So I think I've decided to make a retarded team that probably wont win any battles, but I'll do it anyway;
Basically just gonna rely on Trick Room and maybe use (Mega)Abomasnow, Aromatisse, and Trevenant.
Of course I'll have to name the Abomasnow Thanks Obama.

Venusaur is awful? Are you sure you guys just dont suck at using him? Leech seed, Grass knot Sludge bomb and 4th as whatever rapes shit. Maybe I just see too many fairies since before this gen i never cared about the poison? At the very least it was better than charizard aka Mr. starts off at half hp due to stealth rocks everywhere.

Also, Mega Venusaur is tanky as heck. Thick Fat turning Fire/Ice hits neutral has saved my bacon more than once.

Is there a set limit of fights or can you go on forever?

Also; the stone emporium place; My 1st gen starter was bulbasaur and so there's a guy who'll sell me Charizard Y stone for 500k. I currently dont have the 500k, but when I buy it will he offer the blastoise stone? and can you only buy the one or can you buy multiple stones so I could trade an Charizard Y stone for an X stone?

You're thinking too far ahead. I'm playing through the story, not building a competitive team. He is the one given by Sycamore with whatever nature I got, not bred for anything. If I have to choose one mon to stomp the story, it's not going to be Venusaur.

Iono, people just love to hate on him. I speed and spatt super trained him (and a bit into HP for emergency tanking purposes) and he just goes around curbstomping everything. Plus doesn't Thick Fat basically make him the best Mega of the 3 Kanto starters? Charizard and Blastoise just seem bleh to me, but Mega Venusaur seems to be able to hold its own against alot.

Venusaur is a better wall than attacker, though I guess you could get by with him as a sweeper of sorts with Growth, but thick fat just makes him so..wally. Leech Seed/Ingrain (I believe he can get that either through learning or breeding), maybe throw in Protect.. or something like Sludge Bomb/etc. He's got a good amount of range.

In story his only problem was not enough pp for having him take care of everything that jumps out at me. That role is usually a sweeper. Leech seed and sleep powder( because i dont have sleep on my other pokemon and only so that i can catch shit later) takes up slots i'd normally use for taking care of weenies jumping out at me ingame so I end up having to save him for real battles. Well and I guess the silly bird legend rapes it too but that's what the other 5 pokemon are for.


Also woot. mewtwo has 3 perfect IVs and is outstanding. 2 more legends and some marbles to collect and I have my first game farmed for trading.

My point exactly. I have 5 other Pokemon that can carry me through easier/better. I cannot comment on his role in competitive teams, but right now he is going completely unused.

Mmmm, most walls are largely not useful in the main part of the game. Competitive play is a lot different and you would see pokemon like Venusaur making a larger play at that point.

I suppose if you were doing a Nuzlock run you would invest more in that sort of a pokemon but most people just opt for a team of glass cannons that can handle super effective coverage and just blow through the competition. I concur though that the bulbasaur you likely get from the prof is probably not the one you would end up raising for competitive play as well.

You want the first one. Heads up, but attack on a ghastly or anything like that is bleh since it's a special attacker mainly. So the first one is by far the best and hell, I'd be all over the place if I had a ghastly>gengar like that, lol. Should get me one with max speed/special attack :> That's all I *really* need. HP is okay too.

But yeah.. that's a special attacker so attack is absolutely useless.

Honestly? Either one. I'd go DEF personally due to what checks Gengar.
Mega Gengar is going to be the most horrible mega to deal with if you're trying to counter/check him, imo. I don't even know if he has a true counter...
