I so despise animation locks more than anything ever.
I'll reroll my shield dwarf and join in on guild shenanigans.
Btw dont use the page to farm rough crystals.
Holy shit, some of these foundry maps.
Couple questions for you guys in the higher levels.
I am looking through some builds of the level 60 guys streaming this and trying to compare it to my own (GWF specifically). One gripe I had about the game is how you have to put skill points into things that you may not necessarily use. So while going through builds, I can see people putting 3 points into every Class Feature at level 60. Of course, I didnt bother to find out how far you can spread your points, but it seems like such a waste. Now, I could really be missing a key feature, as I just learned that you have to equip Class Features in the first place, but is every character guaranteed to put points into powers they won't be using? Furthermore, if I have points in every Class Feature, there is no way to use them at the same time. Is there any kind of toggle/quickswap/etc to switch between these sort of things? (how often does this get asked?)
Sorry, my fault. By missed I mean I didn't choose to put points into them.![]()
Anyone have a Lv20 CW on mdub
edit: can be higher too
After 35 levels of GWF I finally start seeing the boom in this class. Weaponmaster strike is a godsend. I now feel adequate.
Too bad it's finals week.
Yeah those animation locks can be deadly... the Lv34 instance last boss, with its massive aoe everywhere, can really fuck people up, and you can literally be combo killed within a span of few seconds with bad luck, and it all starts with a combo lock ;/ (especially something like a fire pillar -> dragon aoe stun -> fire pillar -> dragon breath or something)
During the fight, it almost always has 2 fire pillar demons up, and between those 2 spamming their fire pillar attack, its easy to get hit by one of the two at times, and if the dragon boss targets you while your flopping around BOOM dead.
p.s. the video taking more effort to encode then i thought, it kept crashing when I tried to encode earlier, takes about 2 hour to encode a 92GB video each try too ;/
Me and a buddy are trying it out and wouldn't mind joining. We're really liking it so far. I rolled a Guardian and he's a Rogue. About to try out configuring the controller, as going between this and my setup in WoW is causing me some grief and aggravation. XD
I am really enjoying this so far. Playing slow as I am still playing WoW and LoL mostly right now, but it's a fun little distraction. The monetary system is kinda borked though.
Yeah gold being worthless and diamonds being time gated is... wat. At least you can make more playing the AH.
Edit: Derp shouldn't post when I first wake up, guess you meant cash shop lol. That's terrible too, costs are insane.
You just gotta drag and drop them on to your bar. Can be done in combat. You will put points in stuff you don't need every now and then but most of it is stuff you will use whilst leveling or in PvP. On GWF for example you'll want to use Takedown in PvP but you probably won't use it much in PvE. I max stuff like that to meet point requirements rather than shit I'd never use.
I actually preferred our old AoE, I really hate how finicky WMS is. The debuff is too good to pass up though, especially with the Destroyer feat tree buff to encounter skills. I'm topping DPS charts regularly now though thanks to every fight having billions of adds so yeah, was definitely worth sticking out them gimp levels.
No, you are absolutely correct on both accounts. The Rough Astral Diamonds, Astral Diamonds, Zen and Gold is fucking retarded. You are supposed to be able to get more rough diamonds if you do other things, but I haven't gotten the reward yet. The whole system makes no sense.
So far they've been from doing dailies (can grab and turn those in from anywhere btw... just open the Home menu (L) and click the daily button at bottom right), Skirmishes during the bonus event (the crap that pops up to the left of your minimap) and from some Leadership profession "crafts". The game does do a pretty shitty job of explaining lots of things. I don't think it ever even mentioned how to queue for skirmishes despite giving you quests to do them.
There is definitely a good system as a backbone but you are absolutely correct, learning that system is shitty.
I would also like to express my displeasure with the crafting system, which is basically ripped right from SWTOR. It's a horrible system that requires no player input and becomes a forgotten tedious experience.
Good thing the combat system feels so good. I don't mind the animation locks really. Collision detection and animation locks really make the system feel meaty to me rather than floaty and disconnected.
