Gold.
Gold.
PSO2, GW2, PSO2 isn't really a MMO, but it's a different game. GW2 is the only MMO that doesn't, because it's actually a video game trying to evolve the MMO genre and not lol let's play the same shit for 100 years straight. Sorry but I don't want to be 90 years old still playing WOW clones.
Why exactly are we not playing GW2 and PSO2 right now?
Played PSO2 for over 3 months, and GW2 for over 5 months. These copy/past generic WOW clone mmo's last me ~2-3 weeks(usually less). Good innovative different games actually last much longer.
Cause ANet said "fuck it" with the original direction they wanted to go with it and now seem to be floundering about without the slightest clue of what they're doing. "Hey guys you know that super awesome content we've been working on? Yeah it's only gonna be available for a month and then next month we're gonna have a dungeon that we've worked hard on only be available for 2 weeks." Herp Derp.
It was a rhetorical question.. but yup, people need to realize its not always about new and innovative.
What? GW2 was new and innovative, and I played it for 5+ months. Rift lasted me 2-3 weeks, SWTOR lasted me 2-3 weeks, this game will last me 2-3 weeks, and tera lasted me 2-3 weeks. PSO2 also lasted me 3+ months.
IT IS about being innovative and new. Those games don't get boring as fast because you're actually playing an entirely new game and not the same shit with a different coat of paint.
Not saying I didn't get my money out of GW2, but pretty much everything they tried to do and champion as successes can also be linked to a major flaw in their game/content or community.
I got most of my enjoyment from the part of the game they ignored until a month ago, if I had been doing only PVE I would have quit far sooner because there is no point to doing anything and it simply isn't fun.
Shiyo you really consider playing an mmo for 5 months and then getting bored a success?
My point was innovation does not always mean better and more fun. Which is a fact, also you do have to realize your own personal experiences about a game does not make it the global truth.
I played GW1 for years during my time playing 11. Guild was 2 did not last me 6 months, and I agree with church, major flaws in how they tackled their priorities, no amount of innovation could have fixed that.
Not anti GW2 or anything if you look at the GW2 section I was one of the biggest supporters, disappointed? a bit.
Seconding this. Although I did enjoy many if the pve aspects, it was the wvw that kept me playing. Sadly most of my pvp guild eventually stopped logging in which led to me pretty much quitting.
Neverwinter is the other way around, however I don't see this game keeping me too long or at least not as long as GW2, which looking back wasn't all THAT long (launch till January)
I don't think I'll ever really charge full steam ahead into another MMO (playing everyday, aspiring to get the rarest shit possible (relics, legendaries etc.)) but I could see Neverwinter holding my interest for a long time depending on what happens with the Forge and other shit.
Going to try this a bit before I head to work later. Mind something is the server you guys are on right?
What a perfect time to start playing when a emergency maint happens.
Yeah we're on Mindflayer.
PUG rage quit on the first sub boss of the mad dragon raid, lulz. Scrub mode disengage.
Might give this a shot over the weekend, what are tank classes like to play and generally around what level do you start getting interesting abilities?
I rolled on Mindflayer. Name is Sturgges Hammerfall. Dwarven Tank
