    WTB: decent mp3 player

    My ipod finally went to shit and was wondering if anyone had an mp3 player (Ipod or otherwise) that they were looking to get rid of (maybe you got a new iphone idk lol);

Not looking to spend too much (obviously), but will look at any reasonable offer. Ipod touch for example 4th/5th gen aren't going to be in my price range.

That said, looking for any mp3 player, just post what kind it is and what you'd be willing to sell it for and hopefully I find something I can afford/worth buying for the price, thanks.

I'm on my bike over 10 hours a week; and going back to my CD player is not ideal @.@, so looking to get this thing replaced asap

    I have a 4gb Ipod Mini if you're interested.

It is Pink, but it does have a silicone case with armband attached, which I used while biking.

No issues with it at all.

If you want it just shoot me your address in a PM, if you want me to send it Priority mail I can as well for like $6.

If Night delivers that MP3 player to you, you should be set. If they don't, let me know, and I will send you a Sansa.

Got a 3rd Gen iPod Shuffle (4g) for like $20 if ya want it Vegetto. Originally got it for working out too, but you gotta use those specific headphones for it to work. They wouldn't stay in my ears for a run or lifting, so all yours if you want em.

Already talked to him, going to use it as a last resort option, since I'd eventually end up having to replace it anyways(current one is 16gb and it's pretty much full, so 4gb would be cutting down on my songs by 75%), would feel bad taking it knowing that

All right. Well, here's a couple of options.

If you haven't already, you could replace a buttload of those 320 MP3s you've got. Since you're piping them through an MP3 player and probably mediocre-quality headphones at best, you could replace them with 128kbps, honestly. However, now that you know the wonders of V0, you could also seek those out. Just don't transcode (i.e., take a 320kbps MP3 and re-encode it at V0); re-acquire wherever you can. I understand that this isn't always possible, though, but if you can do it, you can shave off MBs that way.

Secondly, my Sansa has 2GB of space natively, and I have an 8GB SD card sitting around doing nothing. Now, there's two things that I need to note about this.

One: you'll have to use third-party, modded firmware to read the 8GB card, as the built-in software will not do this. Fortunately for you (if you are interested), I have already modded the player.

Two: I haven't tested it in a while, and it's been sitting in my car's glove box as an emergency backup player. My car sits in a shaded, covered garage whenever it isn't parked at my cold-as-fuck workplace, though, so I'm sure it hasn't broiled to death. Nonetheless, I'll need to test it.

If you think that you can live with a modded 10GB MP3 player for a while, and I can confirm that it works (naturally), it's yours.

I actually have a decent pair of overhead headphones, despite putting them through 3+ years of hell (biking sweating, rain etc.). Though I don't take them out of the house, so not an issue for biking/working out(had to send them in for warranty, but I know I just wore the fuck out of them). That said, my in ear headphones aren't good enough to distinguish 256 and 320, but 192 is a noticeable drop (at least for me) and 128 is just plain ear rape. I do like the v0 idea, though a lot of the stuff I listen to may be difficult to find. Most of my jpop/kpop gets posted in 320 or 128-192 on the blogs I get them from.

That all said the 10gb should be enough, even if I can't fit all my songs, I can get the ones I listen to most often, and since you have my address anyways(and can hopefully pay you back by the next time I come to Cali), I'll accept your offer

I'm assuming that's a touch screen? If so, are there any special headphones, like the earpods for ipods that you can change the songs w/ the headphones? Anything with physical buttons I can navigate from my pocket, but touch screen, it's a bit trouble to take the thing out of my pocket to change songs.

I would honestly go with the sansa players, whether you get the one from Kohan or have to buy a Clip+ or Clip Zip that has a little color screen. They're all of about $30-40 and support 32GB+ sdhc cards with manufacturer firmware updates and on top of that are extremely portable, have physical buttons and have 10-15 hour battery lifes depending on the kind you get. I use my Clip+ to walk my dog with every day and charge it like weekly. Any of the clip models are really nice for anything physical because they weigh nothing and clip onto whatever you're wearing.
