Some people aren't a fan of Nintendo's lack of an account system and purchases being bound to the piece of hardware (myself included).

Nintendo usually doesnt have issues like this with release and honestly, who is to say its Nintendos fault?

Also, Gamestop apparently won't be carrying the game and will only be filling pre-orders.

they will be carrying the game, just not till after all preorders are filled. so no extra copies until at least next week.

I went to play this game last night, but then realised I need to actually read what these stats do and such..

Unless this game has changed the way things work in past Fire Emblem games, it should always show you all pertinent information before you confirm an action (hit%, damage dealt if hit, evade%, damage taken if hit, crit%, etc.). For most situations, it's as simple as this:

[STR] + [Weapon DMG] - [DEF] = Damage Dealt
[MAG] + [Spell DMG] - [RES] = Damage Dealt

If you have to research stats, you're probably thinking this is way more complex than it is. No fractions, no unexpected random variation in damage, nothing complex.

Depending on the difficulty you play on, you may find yourself wondering how someone with a 13% hit chance hits you almost every time, or how you miss with a 90% chance to hit more often than seems probable. Saw that in FE8, was frustrating as hell sometimes.

The game indeed has a more tactical feel in terms of what who to move to where and needing foresight on what enemies needs to be killed first or how soon should you talk to npcs in a battle (or trying to outrun npcs you are trying to save as they rush ahead to get one shotted lol). I swear I restarted a stage a good 10 times trying to make sure I am able to recruit a certain enemy npc while making sure another friendly npc does not kill them before I reach them lol.

Its so damn fun and challenging, even at the early stages, and yes im a softy playing on casual, I actually am one that hated losing people, I still have the habit of restarted on death lol

Excellent. Shipped from Gamefly. Hoping that they will open up the "Keep" option for this thing at some point, even though I am just borrowing a friends 3DS. I can't wait to play it. Not sure if I want to play on casual or not. I have always enjoyed that aspect of the game, but as I have grown older I have definitely become a bit more OCD about games in general. I simply can't play on after losing someone so that changes things. I want to actually see the end of the game =P

Going to pop in my GBA Fire Emblem that I just found hanging out in my SP and play that until it shows up.

I'm playing on hard/casual, and I feel incredibly dirty.

But on the other hand, I'm actually enjoying the game. Usually when I would have to repeat a stage a few times due to someone dying to something retarded or me being a retard, I would just go "ugh can't play anymore unless I throw my ds at the wall" and stop playing for the day.. then pick it up the next day. No more of that. (I also dont really have the time to sit around all day repeating the same stage over and over anymore)

It feels cheap, but I'm enjoying the hell out of the game, and in the end that's what matters.

I am doing hard/classic and restarting the fuck out of everything, but getting much better at planning ahead.

That's actually the exact same reason I'm going to set it to casual. I'm all for playing on hard and being challenged, but I'm not a fan of wasting time reloading saves over and over again because something goes wrong or a character gets one-shotted by a crit.

"What's that? A softer character is vulnerable? Now, I wouldn't normally kill them this round, but you're just in luck, I have 2x attack!"

ARGH! Goddamn it Julian. This is exactly what I want myself. Hmm, have a couple of days before it shows up to decide. I want to have fun, bottom line.

I'm still having fun, but I wouldn't fault anybody for going casual.

I'm playing on Hard/Classic and it doesn't seem so bad compared to other FEs in terms of restarting over and over. I've only had trouble with chapter 9 so far. Died with only one enemy left lol Had to restart that one about 4 times. The pairing up seems to make getting out of tight spots a bit easier.

Im having a hard time remembering to switch around paired characters so that certain ones do not get targeted , I lose my healers so easily that way lol

I am a total 3ds noob and not too sure how some things work with it so bare with me. Am i able to use the current spottpass more than once when I finally recruit the first person, is there a time restriction like once every 24hrous, or do I have to wait for the cycle to come around again to try for an other random character?

After spending all night on one map because I'm a stubborn asshole, I think I'm gonna restart casual because I'm just getting in my own way.
