Allrighty, did what I said and waited for it all to come out, binged it... and my goodness, it was as amazing as the first season if not better.

I mean, I know it was total fan service, but the down barrel bullet slow-mo shot from the Ranger near the end of that episode... not to sound like a bot critic but actually got chills watching that, fuck I love this show

All that said I'm curious how many seasons they have planned. I don't want this to end up like other shows that go on for too long and lose their way/sauce. I haven't seen any cracks forming yet, personally, so I'm in for the long haul. I can already see a season dedicated to the Brotherhood stuff, Idk if they'll off-screen the NCR/Ceasar stuff or if it will have a bigger role in next season, not to mention the Mutant 'war' hinted at. I doubt they'll jump right into the

I binged the first season since its now free on youtube and I have a lingering plot question, please don't give any season 2 spoilers here

I am kinda lost on the Moldaver character. She was alive pre-war, and looks exactly the same post war, but she's not a Ghoul and from her antagonistic relationship with Vault-Tec I doubt she was in one of those Vault Tec cryo pods in Vault 31. So why does she look exactly the same? Also, apparently she is a Raider AND a commander in the NCR? What? So she got the pip boy from Lucy's mother to enter Vault 32, posed as Overseer for a time with a group of raiders and managed to deceive both Hank and Brain Bud Askins in Vault 31 somehow to gain entry. Like, those were definitely Raiders she was with in the first episode, not NCR, what gives? Was she NCR, became a Raider after Shady Sands blew up, went back to NCR later? I don't get it.

No spoilers here but the show never explains how she survived. Probably a Cryo Situation but I dont think its ever outright stated how. At least not yet, it could be a plot point in later seasons.

As a non player of the game, this season was hard to follow and I found season 1 to be much better. I am sure there are things that if I had played the game, would have made season 2 just as great. Everything just felt super disconnected and it was obvious that certain scenes would have made more sense if you played the game.

To me all of the direct references to game stuff felt more like nods or Easter eggs instead of actually being required knowledge

Huh, I feel like all the plot points I'm remembering were pretty well resolved or naturally escalated and hinted at further developments in Season 3 and onward.

The plot by all those executives to kind of "rig" the aftermath of nuclear fall out and rebuild the world themselves is still going on, likely entangled with the Enclave story and the Ghouls storyline which is taking him to the executive Fallout Bunker in Colorado, and House brings up the masterminds behind the whole thing, the Enclave. It was pretty well explained in Season 2 that the plot to enact Nuclear War was a result of the Enclave pulling the strings, and thats where the story seems to be going from here. The Enclave was mentioned(I think by name?) In season 1, its where the Scientist fled from with Dogmeat and the Cold Fusion device.

The only other threads in Season1/2 that I recall were Lucy's Dad, Vault 31 experiment, The Ghoul finding his family, and the Cold Fusion device

1) Lucy's dad is captured, and brain wiped
2/3) The Cold Fusion device is traded to House by the Ghoul, giving House life, and him access to where he thinks his Family is, thus leading him to Colorado.
4) Vault 31's experiment had the most lackluster ending, with all the Interns just dying, but perhaps there will be more of that with the current Vault leaders and Lucy's brother in Season 3.

Oh, the Brotherhood stuff too, looks like its probably going to expand into a Civil War situation next season.

That's fair. For me, it just felt like they wrapped some stuff up pretty abruptly (Lucy's dad, Vault 31, the blonde overseer) while just bringing the entire Legion vs NCR battle in sort of at the last second. Really not sure where the show is headed from here.

TBH I can see what you mean, personally I felt the Arguments between Lucy and her Dad got enough breathing room that the conclusion we got kind of felt like the only path they could reasonably take outside of killing him off somehow. The Canadian Overseer did seem to have an expedited reveal to removal, but I dont think we've seen the last of her.

As far as where we're going from here, my speculation is

1) NCR/Ceasar War which might include the hinted at Mutant war too.
2) The Ghoul is going to go to Colorado to figure out what happened to his family, possibly learning more about the Enclave in the process (Maybe from his Wife)
3) Lucy/Maximus I think are going to be draw into the NCR war or end up working for House to go after the Enclave.
4) Lucy's brother exploring and learning about the Wasteland with his new female friend, while trying to find her, and possibly more to do with the Canadian Overseer and that Vaults story.
5) Brotherhood Civil War and Liberty Prime

I think Season 3 has several paths to explore. Personally I dont think they'll go straight for the Enclave story, I feel like the Enclave is going to be a looming villain in Season 3 and we'll learn more about them through the various story arcs. I think Season 3 is probably going to finish New Vegas with Lucy/Maximus, lead to Lucy and her Brother reuniting, and then Season 4 is going to be Enclave focused.

My girlfriend didn't play any Fallout and the only part of season 2 that she wasn't sure of was

the super mutant and radiation healing the Ghoul. I forget if it was just implied that radiation healed them previously or if it was overtly pointed out. There was the s2e1 scene with the fusion core but she just assumed that was videogame-esque med mist or something.

Everything else seemed pretty self explanatory or at least able to be understood well enough to follow along.
