Ive been working on this for a bit and with the help of some of the modders of XI View, we are starting a new dat mod site to bring back the craze ffxidats.com had going back in the day. I hope we can find support for this project from many members of this games community.

Would love to see a site run like the old ffxidats, except all the files hosted on the site itself, that way there are no broken links.

Im gonna see what I can do for that but at this time I would need some support and such from other dat modders and such.

Most of what Im doing is using this as well to promote the music modding projects Im involved in. So Im hoping to make this a community effort.

After finally getting most stuff to work, I just need the main music files to kick this off. however The problem I am having now is that the download is eternally stuck in Pending. I know Mega is brand new so probably has some teething issues. Do you have an alternative host to download from?

Yea I need to find better methods to host this big file. I thought about splitting them up but thats about 200+ music files Id have to do that to. If anyone knows of any good services that have better file hosting then by all means let me know.

K I went ahead and went from the new but sucky Megaupload to Pogoplug.com. Let me know if this gives any trouble. If it runs fine and I get positive reviews for it, I might use it for the site as a whole.

Could you be more specific? What you're referring to sounds vaguely familiar, but I don't remember what it is. I assume it's a website.

That's it, then. I went there once or twice, but never again, and I completely forgot about it afterward. After scanning the main page and seeing a lot of 2010 and 2011 year listings, I imagine I wasn't the only one.

I think its just too big as a single file, perhaps if you could break it into a few pieces it would be a lot easier to get. Really looking forward to getting this hooked up, sooooooo bored of the default music these days

There is a new post there almost every day. As far as the .dat uploading it is primarily a lot of old .dats that were made in the past. Even Mooshy has posted some things there himself. It just seems this is spreading it thin and making the situation worse. Will you be hosting all the old files as well? Or will it be only new stuff, because I know there aren't many .dat mod creators anymore.

Amazon S3 or something. Of course none of these options will be free.

As for the hosting, thats a bit of a ways off since Im mostly am using this for my music project and future GUI mod projects before we do any other dat mod stuff.

If this still is going slow, I might need someone to recommend something to me to speed up downloads.
