The whole escape and helicopter premise and idea was the biggest load of shite... Imagine the FBI dont have the ability to get a chopper (Would most likely have one on site tracking an escaped serial killer) within a couple of minutes fuck local PD have a chopper... Our police force probably have 2 choppers spread across the whole country and we could have got there...

The escape from the prison made a little more sense to me than the mall/parking garage scene. He killed the lawyer when he had her call Kevin Bacon to draw him to the mall/parking garage and seemed surprised when he got there? Something just didn't add up there. But I guess that's par for the course.

I enjoy the show. I don't care how cliche or unrealistic certain aspects are. I find it entertaining. At least its certainly better than a lot of other stuff on tv right now.

FOX Renews The Following

The new drama will return for a second season.

FOX announced today that it has renewed freshman series The Following for Season 2. The Kevin Bacon-led thriller has been a mid-season success for the network, already becoming this season's #2 broadcast drama in Live+7 ratings after its first six episodes. The show's solid ratings, combined with praise from critics and audiences alike, make it easy to see why FOX was quick to pick the series up for a second season.

Nine episodes remain in the first season of The Following. The number of episodes ordered for the show's next season have not been specified.

Exactly. Suspension of disbelief is one thing, but this just isn't working for me anymore. The whole "The FBI gets a magical clue to a place and goes in without waiting for (or even calling for) any backup" shtick is getting to be too much every week. The plot "twists" are just getting more ludicrous, and the scene where Joe kills the guy? I guess they were just going for some homo-erotic ritualistic sacrifice, but it came off as silly. The last three or four weeks, I've just ended up shaking my head at the end of the episode, going "This doesn't make any sense," it's just too much. I have to admit, the chewing the poison capsule out of his hand was a nice touch, but that was the highlight of the episode. There's not really any over-riding mystery left in the show, other than "What are the bad guys going to do next?" which might keep me watching.

If the show was ending this season, maybe I would stick it out, as I said I would last week. But knowing this is going a whole second season and there won't be any real resolution this season? Yeah, I'm officially deleting this from my DVR.

P.S. I've been wondering the whole time. Is Joe Carroll's middle name "Barry?"

Im gonna presume by the complete lack of posts in this thread for over a month that everybody stopped watching it or was just too embarrassed to post given how shite it is but did anyone watch to the end? It was so bad but i had to watch it until the end...

Season 2 can be summarized as "How much can the bad guys get away with because the FBI is incompetent as shit".

It's still worth watching, but only if you don't think about it.
