Clearly it's because they got a laugh imagining all the players running around looking like a ridiculous mismatch between tribal warriors/cybernetic robots/ancient samurai/whatever else inspires them this time around.
Still won't fix that issue first playthrough x.x
Chances of NA seeing a Wii U bundle with this game? I think Japan is getting one.

Found it on Nintendo's JP Youtube, and live streamed it. Uploading reaction to Youtube now.
This game just feels so epic.
Xenoblade Chronicles X: data packs to improve loading times of the disc version
http://www.perfectly-nintendo.com/xe...-disc-version/
Also if anyone is interested, my reaction to the Direct from this morning: https://youtu.be/UR5MoTyuhioA few weeks ago, Monolith Software teased a special feature for Xenoblade Chronicles X, recommended for players who want their gameplay experience to be as seemless as possible. Today, they finally revealed that feature: it’s special data packs that can be downloaded on the console, and which will improve the loading times for the retail version (does not apply to the digital version, since it’s already installed on the external hard drive!).
Those data packs are installed on the external hard drive, and are meant to speed up loading times. Of course, they can be downloaded for free on the Nintendo eShop (via the “Add-on” section of the Xenoblade Chronicles X page). For the best results, Monolith Software recommend that players download all the packs, but if space is limited, the Basic pack is the one players should install in priority as it’s needed to download the others.
Here’s some details about the packs:
– Basic Pack (2GB): for basic data, like the most frequent elements of terrain, which speeds up loading within the city and on Planet Mira. [Very Effective]
– Enemy Data Pack (2.7GB): for enemy data. Makes loading on the field even faster. [Midly Effective]
– Player Data Pack (3.6GB): for player data (armor, etc.). Makes loading time faster when changing equipment in shops. [Midly Effective]
– Doll Data Pack (1.7GB): for Doll data. Makes deployment of Dolls much faster. [Midly Effective]
Total: 10GB, 14.7GB needed for install.
Game looks good, i'm just not a fan of the NPC discussion method we see in the videos
Like a stale environment with NPC sprites poping up like that
I hope it's just the videos and not like that in game
Hope so![]()
So quick question. Can you play this and understand it without having played the first xenoblade? Cause I have to buy the new 3ds and a wiiu to play both of these
You'll be fine, X is just a spiritual successor, primarily sharing similarities with the combat system of the first game. At the moment, it seems like the only direct link between the two games might be easter egg equipment/clothing, like Lyn's monado hair clips.
