I feel like this game took the vision of Gran Pulse from FFXIII and made it into a full open world game. Which is awesome.

84% on Gamerankings is mixed? >_>
Only a few hours in but its fantastic so far. Scope of the open world is amazing.
Anyone done the quest A Hero's Ride? Says I need to gather two anhydrous radiators in Primordia but have scouted everywhere and gathered and haven't found them yet.
Also do quests go away like in Xenoblade chronicles as you progress in the story?
I haven't read that any quests disappear; just that you can only have one Mission or Affinity quest at a time, and you can't abandon them like you can the others.
Combat takes getting used to, but once I memorize the buttons, I think it's going to be a lot of fun. The world is great, and will be a lot of fun to explore. The biggest complaint is not knowing where to find items, for completing those Affection missions, since you can't progress until you complete them. I think the map has some indication if a section has the items, for quests, but I haven't gotten that far myself (Section 39 of the game manual, about Segment Map)
Dunno exactly how to as I'm not that far, and I didn't see it in the PDF, but here it is, in case you want to review the manual:

BTW, anyone know why I'm always Offline (upper left corner)? Have I not progressed enough to enable it, or is there a way to toggle it in-game? Haven't found that setting so far.
For those with/getting the CE version, read this:

How do you level Field, Mechanical skills, etc?
Increase your Blade level, then talk to the woman next to the mission board. I dumped everything into mechanical for probes at the start. Also, Elma getting Utsusemi:Ni-ga and Lin getting Stoneskinga is the best thing ever. I haven't played around too much with the extra 4th character, but so far loving L just to have another source of topple, but I'm not sure if he's the best. Oh, who am I kidding, he wins just on his quotes alone.
BTW, if you go into the menu, and select missions, then set a way-point, you can get a map indicator for any non-gathering mission. It's...not always acurate; said the targets were across Primordia, but they were flapping right above my head, but most of the time, it's spot on. Supposedly there's a way to summon an orb and have it fly to the spot, so you can follow, but I haven't seen that yet.
Finished up several missions, and killed a few Tyrants, and it's been a blast. Ran into a cave, for one of them, and was walking around non-agro lvl 33 mobs. Nightfall came, and then they all bum rushed me. >_>;
