I haven't had any problems, with the text, so I don't quite get the complaints. Not really sure if it's because of my TV's size or something else.

Ran into a weird issue last night. I'm not sure if it's a bug or I'm missing something. I completed Chapter 3, completed all the pre-reqs to open Chapter 4 except... I can't get Elma in my party, so I can't pick up the next mission. She's nowhere. The hex grid map shows approximately where she's hangs out in the barracks, right around the place to pick up the story mission, but there's no one there.
I'm hoping it's just a bug (wouldn't be my first one with this game) and maybe when I boot it up tonight she'll magically be present, but just in case it's not, is there somewhere else I'm supposed to find Elma?
Try changing the time.
From what I've seen it is definitely TV related. Text is readable for me.....but barely. My TV sucks (old plasma) and all the text just seems really blurry. Not an issue in any other game I've played on it though.
I hope they release a patch or something for it eventually, but I'm doubting it since the game has been out for a while already in Japan.
Makes me wonder how they manage to read their tiny moon runes
Fuck follow ball in its directionless ass. "Oh hey let me drag you across the entire continent when you could have just jumped down this cliff right next to you."
Oddly enough, it does understand jumping up, as I had it take me to where a Tyrant was, but it was an impossible jump, without a Skell. I was only 18, so I thought it must be loosing it's mind, but sure enough, the stupid Tyrant paths just in range of basic ranged attacks, so I spent 10 minutes slowly killing it.
Except I was right at the edge of the cliff, and I eventually fell off due to attack animations. After climbing back up, the Tyrant had re-positioned and I had to start jumping up and down to do any damage at all, which made me fall off more often. It got to the point where only my NPC could occassionally hit it, as their movement glitched up the cliff enough to do basic attacks. Luckily, it was almost dead by that point. -_-
Man you guys keep saying Tyrant and I keep seeing my name.
In game too.
Same but mine is from last year so I guess it's just an issue with Plasma/LED? Text is fine on my screen.
Once you get your flying skell you'll hate getting into any encounter that interrupts the awesome music while flying. If fuel wasn't an issue I would just float in the air constantly while doing other stuff like rearranging probes.
I have a 2015 Sony Bravia Ultra HD 55inch and the text is readable but sucks. Its an issue with LED's for sure. Its not blurry for me though
Finally done with chapter 7
Now to grind to 30 for chapter 8 lol (I'm 25)
I just finished chapter 6 and I'm 28; I keep finding side quests and missions to complete, but I want a skell, now that I'll be 30 soon, so I best be getting the license.
If you want to save your sanity for the Skell quest, for the part where you need to collect Squash head to the bottom right of Oblivia and you'll find a hidden cave called something Trove. It has like 20 collectible crystal things in it and a very high chance of them being squash which is relatively rare otherwise. It's not too far from the probe site either so you can just fast travel and run back to respawn them.
Finally bought a Wii U and Xenoblade today. Can't wait to dive in tonight. I have a 17 day vacation coming up after next week too (including weekends and holidays).
Yep, exactly what I did. Took a few minutes to activate the probe (is it 302? I don't remember) and get the drops. It is the SE corner of Oblivia. Near South Coast on the map below.

Ya, that place is crazy, and it has a Mech. 5 treasure chest too; have to go back and see what it has, at some point.
