I just got Rank 10 Duelist and when i switched to commando I had nothing exept Commando based skills

Arts are tied to the weapon you have equipped. To get access to Assault Rifle / Longsword arts you will have to equip them on your new class.

Ths means you can continue to play like a Duelist while you rank up a new class and unlock their arts/skills, or you can mix a melee/ranged weapon if you want to use Dual Guns arts with Longsword arts, for example.

Not sure I understand. My longswords seems to be in red while I'm on commando since it's not their weapon

I know at least some skills carry over to other classes (I was able to use +% electric damage from Partisan Eagle when I switched to Winged Viper). I don't know if they all do.

You should have no problem selecting skills. Arts are tied to weapons. You also need to cap off a class line before you can equip anything from it to another class.

I think you're asking if it's normal that, after maxing a class, and having a full arts bar, that upopn switching to level one, of any class, you only have three arts available. Yes, that is normal as you haven't unlocked the arts attached to that classes weapon. This is where you have to go and re-equip the mastered class's weapon, so that you have a full range of arts, on the lower level class. Basically, every time you swap a class, you have to do the following:

Go to Ground Gear and re-equip the weapon who's arts you want to use.
Go to Arts and re-equip that weapons arts, on your Arte bar.
Go to Skills and re-equip the skills you want to use.

It's super annoying the game doesn't remember what the last classes settings were, but that's been my experience. If you decide to just swap your weapon type, you've got to go and set up your art bar again.

If you can't equip some skills, on your current class, it might be because you're trying to equip skills from a class you haven't mastered. I just did a check and I can equip all of the skills, of classes I've mastered, on my LVL 2 Astral Crusader.

As to your new question of why you have 5 skills, as a Drifter, and less on others, is because Drifter is the only one that gets 5; the others have three of four, so after you've mastered all classes, you usually go back and stay on Drifter.

edit : nvm, fixed the issue, dunno if it was a bug or normal, but as soon as I hit rank2 on my new class, all my skills appeared

I haven't checked, but are there no stat boosts for merely choosing a class? To weapons or specific stats otherwise?

There is, but drifter can equip 5 skills while classes can equip 4 skills

So skills are better then the small boost a class gives
