Is there a list/guide on how to gain access to augments? Most of the upper echelon ones are grayed out for me. For example where "Melee Attack Up XX" augment is supposed to be, it says "???" No profit.

So even if I know the materials to make it, I won't have access to make it. Anyone know how to unlock those?

Lv 16 and exploring Noctilium. Find this giant lake w/ this awesome looking broken robot/Skell looking thing in it surrounding by a bunch of collectibles. Reminds me of a HNM arena in XI. Start swimming up to it, unable to target it... about to collect one of the crystals on its body and BAM... Go-rha, The Guardian Diety comes alive to wreck me as I stare at it in awe (lv 60 Tyrant)

I don't recall augments being gated behind content, but if it is, you usually need to beat the game to unlock a lot of the end game recipies for Skells and other gear; some things are unlock by opening up L4/5 chests, but those are usually skell super weapons. Usually, once you have one of the materials, it should at least show up in the menu, and the other items you need to craft it.

You got closer than I did the first time I found it and went up to it. Killed me before I could even climb on it.

Oh i didn't get any of the crystals around its body I was like 1 inch from one as it came alive. I tried again going from its back but the same result. was highly amused. complete tease, but I expect those collectibles to be awesome when its possible to kill that thing

As for Go-rha, I wanted revenge for him being one of the first to kill me unexpectedly, so I went with my super skell...and he had reflect ether, causing me to blow up my own skell.

I encountered that Go-rha guy the same way. I was super disappointed when I approached what appears to be a downed skell in a crater further north in Noctilim expecting to die again just to see what it was... and nothing happened.

Fuck me that's what that was? I was running around there looking for the Super Weapon blueprints and decided to pay my old friend a visit and my skell exploded as soon as I engaged. Need to hurry and make those negate Ether reflect augments for my skell weapons. Also reflect Gravity for armor cause that consistently one shots my Ares as well from Xe-Dom mechs.

It's because he can easily be run into, at low levels, and it looks like it's a long-abandoned skell; then it comes alive and eats you as you try to collect the crystals around it. There's actually a few tyrants that do this; some more camouflaged then others.

So I just started playing and I just reached the point where you are asked if you want to join Blade. Is that when the game starts opening up classes? I Noticed the tutorial was pretty much bare and I didn't even figure out arts till about my fourth or fifth battle.

The game opens up classes once you hit level 10 Drifter. Then just go to the classes menu and select a class branch. Be sure to keep an eye on your Class rank meter and swtich as soon as you hit level 10.

Joining BLADE is when divisions open up. Giving you stat boosts and other perks based on the division you choose. It also dictates how many BLADE points you get per activity. For example, Reclaimers get a drop sensor and get 1 BLADE point per collectible, 30 per probe installed, and 40 for uncovering wreckage (numbers might be slightly off), however curators get a boost to critical hits and 5 points per collectible, like 10 for a probe install, and 20 for uncovering wreckage (something like that).

Go to the Barracks, interact with that terminal it drops you off next too, and select the Hanger. From there, you can refuel, as well as assign the skells and customize their color scheme. It's also where you go to get your skell back, if it gets destroyed.

TIL Once you get your skell if you want to respawn an enemy quickly without warping to a fast travel spot you can exit your skell and hit "Return to Skell" from the Party menu. It's effectively the same thing but you spawn right where you left off instead of having to run back from a travel point.

Also for anyone interested this guy has a really good video on how to farm mats for the Art TP Gain Up XX augment (200 TP when using any art) and has another one for Potential Up XX for armor.

I'm only level 22 and have done a terrible job of leveling up members other than Elma, Lin, and Lao. Is there anyone in particular I should try to focus on leveling to help end game or will I be able to catch everyone up fairly quickly?

I heard you should level Gwin if you don't want to have trouble on a later mission.

Besides the obvious Elma/Lin, I think I've leveled L the most. Mainly just because his default gear had Treasure Sensor X or something on it.
