Except the stealth high level mobs blocking a shortcut that you can't avoid and have to go the loooong way. I experience that on my first go in chapter 4.

Switch to Elma, target an enemy, and use blood sacrifice+shadowrunner to sneak past any aggressive enemies. She learns them pretty quickly and it's invaluable for exploration. It's shining moment is when you need to kill 3 lv16 turrets surrounded by lv20-30 enemies for the story. You can also learn both if you're going down the full metal jaguar class path if you don't want to switch to Elma constantly.
Really. I'll try that when I get home. For the most part I've been mountain climbing everywhere.
Side note: Am NOT going near the obvious sleeping skell in that lake. Love the crystal bait the put by it though.
That thing is one of the last things you'll kill (if you even desire too), because it seems to reflect all damage types. Need to figure out your end-game skell + weapon, put in the anti-reflect for you main damage type, and then go solo kill it, while watching your party members kill themselves. I suppose Ares 90 would also work, but building an special ether-reflect negation build, just for it, seems like a waste.
Also, a near full day of farming the Global Nemesis netted me about 2.7 crafted pieces, for the armor set I'm going for. Holy hell.....
Well, finished the game. Easily my favorite RPG of the past few years (had a few minor complaints though, no game is perfect!). And now for the grind on all the post game stuff. x.x

Spoiler: show
So I have a question. That percentage on the tower, what I wanna know is, is this something like MM/Lightening Returns where I gotta beat the game before it reaches 0? >_> Because it's 48% now and I'm still on chapter 4..
You'll learn soon chapter 5 to be precise
If it wasn't story scripted, there'd be so much rage lol.
What lv is the global Nemesis? Can I do it w/ my party at lv 30 w/o a skell?
Only just did chapter 5.
"We don't wanna cause a panic by telling everyone about the lifehold backup power, but lets display a giant countdown timer where everyone can see it."
Wot.
^Oops.
Speaking of chapter 5, one of those turrets is being a pain in the ass. Kicks knocking me off the cliff. ALMOST had it killed but one of them aggroed the two mobs nearby because they "joined" me with both of them in tow.
They are 35 and 60, respectively. I never did any of them until I was L60 and an Ares 90, but the level 50 skells can be steamrolled by the L60 Nemesis. They will survive really well if you take out the Core & Heart very quickly, but, you can't do that without several L50 super weapons or the Ares 90, so, there's that to chew on. My PT members don't last very long if they aren't in their skells.
I would assume the L35 Nemesis will wreck L30 skells just as easily. He also can get reflect buffs, and make you kill yourself really fast, which the L60 Nemesis doesn't do. That being said, it only costs one medal to go in, and you can get three really quickly, by scouting low level blades, and killing an L40ish mob, so there's no harm in seeing what you can do.
How do you get the vitriol cesspool on noctilium for "the mad monk" quest? I've unlocked waypoint 205 and 209 and the map marker is way up the hill and I've spent over and hour trying to figure out how to get up there. I'm lv 30, but it's a lv 22 quest so no way not having a Kelly would screw me over. But this has gotten frustrating
Nvm I'm an idiot. It was in a cave by the water on the lowest level
Ya, the map does that; use the track ball thing to find any marker you don't find a way to get to. If you don't see it, it's probably in a cave, above/below you. That won't work for treasure chests though, but it's usually the same problem.
Completely forgot about the tracking ball. Thanks for the reminder
So the Chapter 5 boss.Spoiler: show
Hire a scout or 4th member makes a huge difference. Make sure your battle points are all spent on arts/skills. Also pressing + and setting on concentrate fire helps. Don't recall if overdrive is available at that time, but you can have everyone activate overdrive w/ the + commands too.
I cleared it. I was making it harder on myself by going for the "main" boss first. I always use concentrate fire though I find I have to use it a few times before they actually switch.
So on the ending of chapter 5
Spoiler: show
You cannot have worse odds than that.
