That bit alone raised my interest in the game 100 fold. I'm now going around trying to find treasures on the segment thingy on my Big Ass Pad. Some of them are deep in high level enemy territory. I found 2 hard to get probe sites..and for all of that, I can't activate them yet >_>. It's amazing how well you can scale high mountain walls.

As a general idea, it's best to go for adds first before going after the main boss.

And climbing mountains/walls is fun. I probably got to a few things I wasn't supposed to by doing that. For those not in a rush to finish the game, I recommend running around and exploring as much as you're willing to before you get the Flight Module for your Skell.

I feel like 90% of my playing so far has been exploring and I haven't even made a dent in the map. I love it though. I think I'm gonna go ahead and do ch 6 so I can get my skells though. When is flight module?

after Ch. 9 i believe, after i got my flight module, i completely forgot about story mode and did so many side/affinity missions. 60+ hours later, i'm finally doing story again.

Is there any easy way to grind hearts/affinity for those characters you don't really play with so you can do their affinity stuff

Not in the early game but post-game you get access to special Support Missions that give you special benefits like BP/Miranium/Cash/etc. One of them gives you 5k BLADE Points and about 1/4-1/3 of a Heart on the Affinity meter for any character you complete it with. They're also really easy to to complete with Skells and any amount of AoE.

For mid-game stuff, turning in Normal missions at the mission board gives a bit of affinity and successfully activating soul voice prompts does as well but the majority of it will come from Heart 2 Hearts and making decisions that the person in question agrees with.

Pretty much. Also doesn't help that most main missions restrict you to Elma/Lin and 3 member limit. L in particular has his Affinity missions linked directly to Skell super weapons so you won't be doing those until the very end/post-game anyway. Best approach is probably just to get Lao to 1 Heart and Gwin to 1 Heart (those are the only two required for story progression I'm pretty sure) and then squeeze in whoever you want as your 4th when you can. If you do it early enough you can probably get them to about 3 Hearts by the end of the game and if not the Heart 2 Hearts should be sufficient.

Anyone else getting a server offline message when they play? First few days I played it's been fine, but since I got back after christmas, the online portion has been down.

It can be pretty sporadic, but I haven't had issues lately. When they come around, it's pretty bad though. It really sucks because you can't farm Squad missions, if you can't get online, including Global Nemesis.

Was getting kicked offline left and right today. But haven't had any issues before today

Yea, it's annoying as fuck and happens randomly all the time. I normally just save and immediately go to Settings > Return to Title Screen and log back in.

You loose all the division support power ups you had when you get kicked offline which is probably the most annoying part. I'll be 7/8 division support and boom, you've been disconnected from the server.

I finally got bored of fallout (those load times holy fuck) and gave this game a shot.

I just started chapter 4, its pretty fun. But having to run though mobs 3x my lvl that aggro and i cant even run from is pretty annoying.

Also I think my only problem with this game is the party system. Hate how its limited to Elma and Lin for all story missions. Hate how you cant just open a menu and add people, you have to go find them. Just the whole process could be more streamlined.

Also what do enemies with a S looking thing above their head mean?

Missions too, before i could start chapter 4, i had to do the probe mission...yet there were no indications at all of where this mission was or where to find it.

I just happened to stumble on the NPC providing the mission

I agree with the distaste for the party system.

Mobs with a "S" above their head mean they are part of the Squad Task. Kill them to receive bonus Reward Tickets used to buy rare crafting materials and miscellaneous items needed for quests.

It's sort of the games way of telling you to go out and explore the world, since that, doing missions, and fighting monsters, is the main draw of the game. If you just focus on where to find the next story mission, the lack of indication of where that required mission is will be annoying, and at some point, you'll be too weak to take them on, and not able to do anything but grind missions or Blade Board missions, until you are strong enough. Also, make sure to save the game before you take an Affinity Mission, or Story Mission, for that exact reason.

I don't mind it so much; adds some personality to it that the others lack. Then again, I'm mostly flying around, so I don't see it that often.

I can't find ANY npcs on primordia for the normal missions on the segment map. Not counting the ones I need flight for..

Elma's blood sacrifice+shadow runner will be your friend. Literally. And sometimes itll proc to the next tier for longer duration. Might be weather tied though.
