I'm a huge fan of all of these changes. Big highlights for me are all party related:
-You Can Change Your Party Any Time
-Affinity Levels with Party Members Fill More Quickly
-Party Members not in the active party will still gain EXP
Obviously looking forward to the new content too
Original composer is also back for the new tracks for the new story
Haven't been this hype for a remaster in some time
Hookay BG fam, quick: my 11 yr old son saw this and it interested him. I've never played any Xenogears games. It's T for teen and the esrb rating says plenty o fanservice. So like maybe have him hold off a couple years?
It's been a decade since I've played it but I don't remember that egregious. But maybe thats because Xenoblade 2 is what comes to mind when I think of fanservice.
It kind of depends. There are some swimsuits, and a set or two of tacky revealing armor for females. I think Lin's clothes got changed somewhat, and the craft-able armors less see-through. It's rather long and there's a lot to distract from the main story, so your son might have a bit of an issue remembering everything that has happened, though the games is mostly about fighting giant alien monsters as you explore the planet and move through the story bits.
It's the guns and potentially shooting "humans." Laser swords and boobs aren't so bad comparatively. Everyone has a different threshold for kids I guess.
Eh, I was killing humans in Final Fantasy, with chainsaws, laser swords, and other shinanegans when I was younger than 11. Original swimsuit Samus Metroid ending? Hell, at one point kids played "Cops and Robbers" and pretended to shoot at each other. Fortnight has all sorts of violence against human characters, though the shit talk would be more concerning there. There's a lot of things an 11 year old is already starting to think about no matter how strict the environment; I was one of them.
Agree though, different thresholds, but I think most kids know fantasy from reality, when it comes to games. Mostly depends on what Rulke doesn't want him exposed to. Can always play it together for a while first and see how it goes.
Funnily, when the first PC appeared in my home (granted, I had contact with games before too), the guy that built for my father installed one game - Postal. I was around 11 or 12 I think too back then, somehow I turned out (relatively) fine ;p
My parents beat me and I turned out fine.
So does it look like there's no Collector's Edition? Wouldn't be surprising given how Nintendo botched the XB3 Collector's Edition, but their unwillingness to monetize properly is astounding.
Placing this here since it's the closest relevant place I'd say:

Tell me when that English patch is released
Reviews are coming in, 10's and 9's all over. Monolith really made Switch Hardware their bitch.

Both.
Do both.
But maybe get this now since it's just coming out.
I play ffxi I ain't got time for both /sob
