Never happened to me on both playthrough on Wii U. In fact I wasn't aware of it. Happened to me yesterday and it took the better part of today to get it done. At least I hit 4 continents with footfall.

I played the original a few months before this one. It existed. I didn't really bother too much with it though.

Personally, I rate the original story and it's cliffhanger ending pretty damn high, but I feel Chapter 13 is just dismal in comparison.

The original ending would've been redeemed if there was actually a sequel some time after. Otherwise it's just one of the worst cliffhangers in history, lol. Trails of Cold Steel 3 is on a pretty similar level, but with that one you at least knew the next game is coming

I'm still on ch 6 so I can't comment on that other than to say the cliffhanger ending was awful lol

Edit: As Gokulo said, a sequel may have fixed that but on its own it sucks
