Is there any way to get paralyze on yourself without having to a fight a mob that does it? Trying to do some cute little trick where I try to obtain paralyze before we pop DL/ADL so i can divine carress para myself and be immune for the whole fight. Unfortunately Paralyze potion is pretty much 100% proc rate so wonder if there's a less potent one similar to Elshimo Pachira fruit with Poison

I could swear skeletons just have floored resistance to Sleep, as I seem to recall landing dark sleep on one fairly recently. I'll have to check myself before making any more bold claims. Anyways, that's what led to my question, I was unable to land Sleep or Elemental Seal+Sleep on Umbrils, however it didn't give me a 'completely resists' message. I wasn't around when those messages were added, but as I understand it, if a monster is immune to a status effect you'll always receive "completely resists" as opposed to a plain "resists" message?

Cycling sleep1 and sleep2: 16 casts, 2 immunobreaks, (7 & 15th) before landing on the sixteenth cast for full duration (it was a sleep1)

I guess I kind of answered my own question. They probably have a similar resistance to dark-based sleep >_>

Are you really really really sure? Doing a bunch of Reives on THF, PLD, DNC, PUP and I've never gotten a skill up :\ My dagger nor evasion is capped for THF, parry and shield should be going up, and so should my h2h and puppet skills. Not so much as a 0.1---I'd really love to skill up in Reive but I've yet to ever see one!

Numbing Blossoms in Adoulin will paralyze you. However it's a hardcore uncurable paralysis (well, I couldn't waltz it off for some reason) and lasts for a very short time.

Don't know of anything but that's not really how divine carress works

Well I've yet to have a full resist with ES on a mob that wasn't completely immune and I was an rdm for most my career. As far as messages I think that's how it goes but the message may refer to the effect not the spell. So basically they can be immune to sleep spell but not sleep effect

Trying to cap marksmanship on thf before using cor(since xbow is cheaper). Will the worms in abyssea take me to c+ cap of 378? @ 320ish and skill ups dropped off sharp at 300. I will be using food just wanted to know if I need to plan on moving elsewhere at a certain level.

I forgot to address this point! The very first cast of Sleep2 I did was with ES:

So, Elemental Seal does not guarantee a landing of the spell it looks like. Which is contrary to what I remember as well, but c'est la vie.

in case you think i'm a whiz with photoshop!!! the logs:

I thought ES was just a large Magic Accuracy boost (+100?) rather than guaranteeing it will land?

Weapon rating is irrelevant to whether it will reach cap or not but yes they should be able to cap you. I capped my RNG Marks on the ones in Abyssea-Attohwa

Use aby-Ule range worms. I capped like 12 different skills off those mobs on various jobs. Food + skillup items makes it spiffy.

I remember having the same argument years ago and Nynja ran up to Jormungand on his lv30 BLM and slept it with ES or some shit.

I went to confirm "Sleep II" lands as opposed to just Sleep, since all my immunobreaks and landing spell was Sleep but my ES spell was Sleep II. This time, again all my immunobreaks occured on Sleep, but Sleep II landed. Just in case any of that was relevant.

According to BG wiki it grants a large magic accuracy boost, somewhere in the region of +256. No test source cited though.

I'm sure someone will know conclusively!

Hmmm guess they must have changed it when they added immunobreak. Given the name might it be completely immune until you get immunobreak? Also if ES is just macc it's a ridiculous amount that would be hard to test. I've ES things everytime with litterally no gear and less than 10 skill that my 99 rdm who used to have decent enfeeble set couldn't land even 10% of the time. And that would be like a 500 macf difference between the 2 characters...

What is the best or some of the best ways to obtain Bayld? I'm a week late on the Adoulin game and right now I'm just doing minor quests to build Bayld for the +4% Haste gloves

Salvage changes made gear drop like candy. Screenshots of like 10 macha coat in loot pool, etc. People probably just upgrading faster.

A friend of mine got upset and dropped her fiancee's Kannagi a few years ago while he was out of the country. She is now playing on his character and wants to build him another Kannagi. Will she be able to make another on the same character? Thanks, in advance!

SE did note they increased the drops rate for 35s in old Salvage. From what I've seen, they weren't kidding - odder to see something not drop a 35 than drop it. Bhaflau nets a hilarious amount now, since all mobs summoned by Reinforcements can drop 35s.

It's just a magian trial. You simply can't have the same trial open twice at the same time. You can repeat it however, as many times as you want. Examples include the base magian staves.

I wouldn't say it's completely immune before the break. I've gotten immunobreak message silencing Ahriman and Flan, and I know for a fact I can/have landed silence w/o the message appearing first. (I remember silencing Ahriman and shit back in 75cap too, when silencing a Smolenkos in a Uleguerand Range XP PT was some sort of badge of honour)

It's possible Elemental Seal and/or magic accuracy on the whole has changed since 75 cap though
