I have 2 connections I can leech from and one is far superior in speed to the other and more reliable (I don't get dropped randomly and have to reconnect)

That being said, the better connection works with everything but ffxi. I'll still be connected to the net and everything goes fast, but as soon as I get into the game, I red dot.

Is there a reason for this and if so how do I go about correcting it?

The superior connection may be coming from what's a poorly-configured router. FFXI and Wi-Fi don't get along well in general, and routers may perceive its packets as too small to be significant, which leads to it dropping them from the router table. This happens especially often on lesser quality routers and/or the aforementioned poorly-configured ones, especially if the network's users torrent a lot.

Locally, you can try disabling QoS, but if you aren't using anything that's relying upon the reserved bandwidth, this may not make a difference. Nonetheless, if you do this and decide to reverse it later, it won't be difficult.

Alternatively, you can access the router's configuration and change it, forwarding all of FFXI's ports, and doing whatever else you'd need to—but that would have to be an option, first.

It can probably be done w/o a problem but some preparation wont hurt.
Rabbit Pie, buffs, 100TP ready + wing
Strategy I would use would be:
Pull them with Chi Blast Elvaan ( yes yes I know but 1500 free dmg is cool )
Run to tunnel (leave whm at enter)
Tank them with everyone facing You
Annihilate Elvaan with WS wing WS (It might die after first WS idk. Use formless if it manage to use invincible )
The reason to kill Elvaan fast is to get rid off annoying shield bash and possible Spirit within.
I wouldnt use counterstance unless you go /blu and use cocoon ( I would actually suggest going /blu)
If You are /blu use CC after Elvaan dies.

Not sure if it counts as TP moves or normal attack, but Ra'Dha Scarscute in Beadeaux (S) does nothing but spam Head Butt.

Hemlock (new item from harvesting) gives paralyze, but no idea how potent it is.

Wouldn't the Taru arkangel rape you from distance as you melee tank the other 4 + the 2 pets?

Hmmm, that's pretty good. I just need to get enough thunder resist to not get perma stunned. So I can keep foil up. Thanks.

Fairly certain that the quadav version of Head Butt doesnt actually stun, just knockback (though I could be wrong).

Well, you're obviously on the ideal job for that. 3x Tellus runes are 96 resist, plus barstone you should be at around 200 earth resist, and you can Pflug every 5 minutes in case it isn't enough.

BTW I was going to test it on Adoulin Mantids, but after your negative results with the ironclad... I'll wait for your Quadav NM results

P.D.: Tunga should be fun with RUN... Muahaha, revenge, revenge!

That's mandragora Head Butt ! Quadav Head Butt IS the one that stuns, which is why BLU's Head Butt stuns.

While we're getting all Rune Fencery--I'm guessing I should go ahead and merit Resolution for RUN? What's an easy-to-get great sword until I get Hoarfrost Blade or some shit? Should I bother making a Magian for it? It is best to use 2h sword and not like 1h sword or axe, right? >_> Ugh.

I'm using GS because I'm stubborn and don't want to change after skilling up GS from barely-enough-to-proc-red levels on my WAR and meriting Resolution, but truth is, /NIN or /DNC with a pair of axes, considering how awesome Ruinator is, isn't a bad idea at all.

As for GS, I use Gram. It's definitely in the top 3-4 in terms of damage, plus has a very needed refresh. Borealis is more damaging, but you need extreme luck for that one, and the new crafted one looks like, despite the lower damage, could outdo Gram thanks to the 11 IIRC attack it gives.

I'd go for 2x Aalak Axes (or 2x Breidox). It might be that Aalak Axe + Bihkah Sword is viable or an improvement over that depending on your Acc / if the haste lets you do anything.

Greatsword wise I'd just grab a Hatzoaar Sword and call it a day. I think HQ is ahead of Borealis and NQ fractionally behind it from what I recall with STR magian being the best option. Plus you can just snag it from the AH/Craft rather than going through the PITA trials. I think if I was going to do a Magian I'd do like PDT or something instead anyway. Taim's Gram call is a good one though if you need refresh.

Obviously HQ of the crafted ones will be better (unless the delay messes up an x-hit, haven't looked) but depends how much you want to drop on them.

I'm sure something better will come around in future updates for RUN so I'll just be grabbing those to get me by with. I half expect augmented Crobaci to be the longterm RUN Greatsword but that's purely speculating.

    So weird... Lol:

SPEAKING OF THAT/THOSE Quadv NMs, farmed up a pop set yesterday, (RDM/sch & BRD/dnc was fun ^^)

What sort of setup would I need for the fight. I can dual box, and buddy has a harp/horn bard. Any gimmicks to the fight? I remember the Orc' fight (kite around the house) but don't remember the Quadv strat.

I duo it BST + anything. Pet tanks main NM, kill off adds, then main NM.

Only real risk is Wrath which is aoe dmg + petrify. I've had fights where it never used, and I've had fights where it virtually spams it.

Uhhh, a lot harder than doing OaT lance lol. Odin v2 isn't really that hard but it does require some decent numbers (or 14 real players) so, unless you have a ls that you could convince to kill it, it's probably out of your reach.
