When I started playing XI again in ~2008, Kirschy's findings regarding gear haste capping out at some number slightly higher than 25% were relatively new, and Blitz Ring was the hot shit as a result. Now, after looking around at different recommended gearsets, reading guides, and playing around with Motenten's DPS spreadsheets, I can't seem to nail down a consensus as to whether that extra fraction of 1% is worth gearing for from a DD perspective. Can anyone give me a definitive answer?

Its useful for War if you're using Ares head/legs+1 set, I don't know of any other situations with war or drk where itsof any use.

I know this is an old, and previously discussed issue, but I am hoping someone has found a way to get this working.

Just got a wireless microsoft xbox 360 controller to use on my PC running Windows 7, for playing FFXI. As previously known, the trigger buttons are not natively functional. I found the Vista driver to enable these, however, it is not digitally signed, therefore Win7 will not use it.

Had anyone found a workaround yet, or am i stuck getting used to a new button layout?

I dunno about win7 but with Vista I put my computer into test mode to make it take the unsigned driver.

This probably won't help because it's designed to address the opposite of your problem but you can try http://code.google.com/p/x360ce
it converts direct input devices to xinput, which probably doesn't work on FFXI cause it's such an old game.

Authors said in the past they wanted to realize the opposite software but so far I don't think they released anything.

And like the first person who answered your question said, its going to depend on the particular set you are using as to whether or not its worth doing or not.

You can't just cast a blanket decision unless it is a direct upgrade in the same or linked stats (swapping 3 attack for 4 str etc)

Also going to depend on buffs as well. Small fractions of a percent might not mean much at 25ish but mean a lot at 78ish

I bought two wired xbox controllers for my wife and I so we could abandon MotionJoy. These are the drivers I found that work perfect for XI.

If you mean the PCK traditional armor:
Kari head seems good on most jobs that can use it. I havent found much use for body, atleast not on the jobs I use.
Thund head would have place in a STR/DEX ws set. I might retire my hecatomb cap+1 for it, but I have to play around and see if STR+1 DEX+7 beats out having DA+3%
Thund Body is top Exen piece, and probably Hi (havent looked into nin gear).

If it is tier 1, price should be *around* (synth cost x16)-(nq price on ah x 15) + (premium based on rarity).

Cost of mars fluctuates server to server of course.

I haven't played XI since last May. The reason? Lost my token. And due to an irrational fear of phone calls, I haven't been able to bring myself to call customer service to get the token deactivated. A friend of mine has offered to make that phone call for me, but I'm overly concerned about coming off as suspicious and getting my account permanently closed.

So I'm trying to gather some information about the process. Has anyone had to make this phone call before, preferably recently? What kind of questions do they ask you?

Well, there is somewhat of an upside to this. You can do this via online chat and not necessarily phone call! Although from what I've heard, reaching customer service is a bit of a task these days. Anyway! The questions they'll ask you are mainly account-related. What name is your account registered to? What date of birth is set, what email? Alongside this, they'll ask for your PoL ID and whatever else they can to verify your account. Make sure to look for this information as closely as you can, and it'll be a quick process.

Thunder MAcc magian staves do, yeah. It's useful for Daurdable BRDs.

With a voidstone, can I participate in a voidwatch fight and receive drops even though I don't have access to that fight?

Without a voidstone, you can get title and proceed on missions, but no KI's and only basic xp/cruor, nor can you pop the mob (but thats obvious)...think of it like having 0 lights at the end of the fight.
