I do apologize if this discussion is not allowed, but out of curiosity here..

I have been wanting to play FFXI again for a long time, and recently I began playing on a private server. It has some slight modifcations like 4x EXP gain, all items on ah for 100gil, etc etc

Are there other custom servers you can join to, say, max out a character fast and just go out and mess around and visit old areas you enjoyed back in the day? Really just looking for a broader view of custom private servers out there if there is indeed a list, etc.

What's the proc rate and what HP% does use the additional effect of Excalibur (99)? A friend insists that Excalibur is better than Almace at 99, mainly because the additional is pretty potent. I strongly doubt it, but I'd be happy to know that he hasn't wasted his gil too much.

I believe Excalibur will win if your in a situation where you won't be able to WS and/or keep aftermath up as a result of losing tp/AM from switching shields or w/e.

I've got 2 questions:

1. I am currently having 90 masamune, should I proceed to push it up to lvl 99? Or should I make a relic instead?

(My jobs are sam nin war whm blm brd, I suppose I could go ahead and make a ghorn instead, I don't think relic GAX is better than emph right?)

2. With fudo available, what's the most dmg combo I can do with 300 TP + willing to use 2hr (more like 1hr now...)?

What causes the chat log to glitch, happened twice to me this week.

I can see stuff going on normally, but when I try to open it up bigger to full screen, everything clears completely, and its empty again when i make it smaller. New stuff will show up normally but unless I restart PoL, it always clears when I expand it.

I have 95 version and lvling it up I didn't see any difference in proc rates (though didn't parse exactly at each stage) and amount was always the same. So assuming 99 is the same I always got somewhere between 10-20% proc rate and 1/4 max hp counts as slashing effected as such. It might be under certain circumstances.

The effect is potent and all but can't have enspells up at the time (samba ok) and so it averages it to about what enlight would start at with ok skill. With high skill it would be less. Of course enlight loses dmg is subject to resist and such and needs time/mp to be cast so it's still probably better to not cast with excalibur but it gains little over another swd using enlight. Of course somewhat dependent on how fast you attack since attacking faster will necessitate recasting enlight more often.

I wouldn't know for sure but I'd say situations where you already using Requiescat it might be better. Or you can't ws or cast enlight maybe sometimes high haste situations. Also it just looks cooler imo.

For the Fount in Uleguerand Range, is the ice wall where the Ironclad is popped in aby uleg? i've never done this zone before other then for jormy and nowhere on the wiki does it say where the ice wall is.

EDIT: Nevermind, found it, turns out foggy weather tricked me into thinking it wasn't ice wall.

SE did not ninja in the adjustment to level 35 armor drops in bhaflau remnants yet.
I made the run 2 nights ago. Nothing drops from the normal mobs which pop from ramparts.

Wouldn't gamble on it, it's non-elemental magic damage. Formless Strikes used to screw them up.

Can't be the only things that cause it. I don't use spellcast, and box on a totally separate computer, yet I still encounter the bug from time to time. From general observation of other people, I do seem to encounter it much less frequently than some though.
