I can only do it on War. I was mainly wondering if i needed all 3 of those things I listed or if i could get away without one of them. It's a mule I just got from my friend who stopped at the 80 era and wanted to see how much work I needed to do to cleave exp for myself.

Is a fully upgraded magian macc staff really only 5 macc ahead of chatoyant like bgwiki says?

Don't know that I've seen on affinity macc... but just seems odd that 2 affinity would mean same dmg but much less macc. Think in this case other wiki is probably better. Plus the lower lvl macc staffs would've made zero sense if it followed bg wikis model

I thought 1 value of affinity = 10, so a fully upgraded magian macc staff would be twice as accurate as a chatoyant. Ffxiclopedia says it's 60 magic accuracy. May I ask what page you read that info from? It also doesn't seem right since 35 isnt a factor of 6, but hey who am I to question SE.

It's the worst staff trial you can do solo mainly because it requires way more mobs and you can't manifestation or AoE ice, earth, fire and thunder debuffs. SE would be so shitty to make the macc values not as significant as a MAB one lol.

Set target to Delve Fodder, 0% def down (ie: no Dia or whatever), and Sole Sushi being used for accuracy (eg: 2-song brd giving Marches, no Hunter's Roll). This is generally to represent a relatively insufficiently buffed config against a difficult target; it would also apply if you had more buffs against a more difficult target.

I'll assume alternating Berserk and Impetus, so only putting Impetus up for this comparison. This leaves nominal cRatio at around 1.1.

With a fairly solid gearset (though sans Toci's), Shijin is at 1751 at 1/5, 1887 at 5/5.

Asuran is at 1593, well below even 1/5 Shijin.

Ascetic's is at 2004, well above even 5/5 Shijin. [Note: Largely ahead due to using Tantra+2 body with Impetus active]

None of the gear sets use any extreme high-end gear (and I'm not spending time trying to fully optimize them; might also be missing some gear swaps as I keep changing between weaponskills, so don't take these numbers as exact), but aside from fully augmented Manibozho, there's not much headroom to improve. Toci's Harness would bump 5/5 Shijin to 1952, still below Ascetic's.

With Berserk instead of Impetus, I get the following numbers:

    Shijin: 2047-2301 (1/5 w/Tantra+2 - 5/5 w/Toci's)
    Asuran: 1888
    Ascetic's: 1715

With Berserk, nominal cRatio was around 1.33.

If I change it to using Beserk and RCB's, but with nominally uncapped accuracy (~82%), I get the following:

    Shijin: 2310-2610 (1/5 w/Tantra+2 - 5/5 w/Toci's)
    Asuran: 2226
    Ascetic's: 1720

In this case, Shijin's heavy dex focus allows it to gain a lot of accuracy and damage at the same time, keeping it ahead. Asuran also increases pretty linearly with either attack or accuracy, so it's fine, though still a little behind Shijin. Ascetic's, however, can only just hang on to its prior damage value. Impetus hardly helps it, either.

So, overall, high accuracy and low attack favor Ascetic's Fury, particularly with Impetus up, largely because of its high attack bonus (which also means it won't improve much at all as attack increases). Increasing attack favors Shijin and Asuran. In a low accuracy/high attack situation, it's a lot easier to improve Asuran than Shijin (since Shijin will usually have started at a higher accuracy anyway), allowing it to catch up to the low end Shijin. As accuracy and attack continue to increase, it then becomes a race between Asuran and Shijin, with Ascetic's being left behind.

For damage, only the first level of affinity is +10%, the rest are 5%.

The magic affinity page implies level 6 affinity accuracy would only be 35 macc: https://www.bg-wiki.com/bg/Magic_Affinity

The hq elemental/chatoyant staff pages say 30 macc: https://www.bg-wiki.com/bg/Chatoyant_Staff

And I'm pretty sure you can manifestation absorb spells to cover those elemental debuffs for the trials.

Damn well that's horrible! I have a friend who did all the magic accuracy staves solo (except fire I guess) and I don't think you can Manifestation absorb spells while also having strong Agas. I wonder how upset he'll be when I give him the news lol. He claimed they really helped land debuffs but he only eyeballed it. Well I guess at the very least he can recast those resists faster xD.

Now question is, how can you do it effectively solo? sch/drk doesnt have phalanx or cataclysm, so I guess regen atmas, PDT gear and rock crusher spam? That still kinda sounds shakey since your tp gain will be pretty shitty and your earth crushers will do shit. It's a trial that needs friends pretty much.

EDIT: I guess you can cap azure, get ISLs, and keep perpetuation regen 5 and embrava and have 1 earth MAB atma... still sounds shakey and inefficient. Can't see a mage handling more than 10 mobs.

Coming back to the game for the first time in a while... can I buy the Seekers expansion from the SE Account Management System or do I need to buy a code elsewhere first?

I don't know the answer to first part but I'd assume yes. Second part is going to depend on target but the short answer is no, you'll be needing at least 68 more str than the targets vit (before counting aluh's str) to cap fstr2 and that isn't really realistic since you'll be tping and wsing in ~60str in gear. A Tough chapuli has 112VIT so you won't be capping fstr2 on even that (maye depending on race/food/SJ you will get very close), let alone the types of stuff you'd actually be using rng for.

Not sure if either are preferrable over the ratt daggers like Carabineer Dagger or Nguul anyways with anni. tp/ws split for rng is almost as biased as sam and dead aim devalues crit dmg a bit

I doubt that since str is a considerably larger boost to ranged attack damage than it is to normal melee. Your ratio would need to be in the toilet.

Every single Anni RNG I see uses Aluh, including Helel (ffxiah RNG guide), which is why I ask

I know Coruscanti's Crit rate applies to both hands when dual wielding, but does it also apply to ranged attacks?
