I hate the boring look of Bloodbath. I've never done any .dat swapping before, but I'm assuming it's as simple as replacing the .dat for Bloodbath with the .dat for the one I'd rather see (if not, please tell me what other steps are needed). Could someone tell me which .dat to replace, and maybe list a few better looking ones to replace it with? Himthige, Ukonvasara, or Telamon, for example, are all much more aesthetically pleasing to me. I'd be happy with seeing any of those (or others that I may not be aware of) instead.

Bullshit?Additional information- extremely High block activation rate, and when blocking Dmg received is 0, tested as 99 pld against taxet solo - Evanleewimbish -Quetzalcoatl
Bullshit
It's the best non-Aegis/Ochain option, but doesn't compare to either
So just somebody that doesn't know size 3s have a good block rate and the ridiculous defense is pushing the reduction?
Yes. That's pretty much what dasva's tests showed. He posted his screenshots and they looked like exactly what I would have expected given the shield's stats.
Here: http://www.bluegartr.com/threads/114...=1#post5746680
Steadfast: 14/24 for 0
Aegis: 14/27 for 0
Ochain: 29/29 for 0
Test was done with Phalanx on, so non-0 hits are probably non-blocks. Steadfast reduces some of the non-0 hits to single digits (unlike Aegis) so it's conceivable that it is also inflating its apparent proc rate with non-blocks that happen to be reduced to 0. A test would need to be done without Phalanx in order to really tell. Also, the shield has skill+10 on it so we do expect a slight bump (~2%, iirc) in shield proc rate over other size 3s.
Yeah my test was rather quickly put together... ie I saw this posted a few minutes before I had to go to work and got some quick numbers. Honestly I wouldn't be suprised with the dt and skill and higher def if it wasn't slighlty better at reducing physical dmg then aegis... but aegis is a magic shield so lol at being slighlty better at blocking. I suppose I can do another real quick now
Slightly better test without phalanx and using boxers mantle to make up the difference in skill/def (ok still 2 def more using steadfast but meh) and twilight torque/patronus ring to make up the dt diff.

Can still see Ochains massive 100% blockrate but here it becomes apparent that it blocks significantly less dmg then the other 2 with blocked dmg being between 11 and 24 basically double the other shields.
Steadfast 10/27 blocks reducing the dmg to 5-12 but the majority between 11-12.
Aegis being 16/30 blocks with the dmg being again between 5-12 with most being near the top of of that.
Sample size is still shit but I don't feel like downloading a parser right now and doing any long tests. I'm sure Martel will get to it before me lol. Still shows that it's pretty even with Aegis in terms of dmg blocked and probably pretty close in terms of blockrate though again sample size leaves alot of room for error. Regardless even with the room for error I'd still not call steadfast "extremely high blockrate" lulz
Maybe this would be best in the delve thread, but doing the T5 Moth in Ceizk, I was counting the moves, 21&22 both healed it for zero, and my logs were showing debuffs still wearing off it. Not entirely sure, but I was assuming once it did that move, all debuffs would've been erased, also, has it been tested that maybe X amount of debuffs need to be on it before the move actually cures it?
Watching a group before us go, was just 4-6 monks, using Shijin Spiral and the RDM using Dia3 the whole fight.
Got all my KIs now, so I'm happy, but was just wondering when I decide to get my mule all the KIs I can maybe lead the shout.
Sounds like a glitch or really lucky. Once had someone put just dia on after the 20th exuvation and it healed itself after awhile for 14k. But yeah each debuff removed will cure more
Crazy, I should've SS'd it.![]()
Random quests about professions:
1) I have a profession at level 73. How can I cap it back at level 70? (I intend to get another one at level 110)
2) The Guild Points I currently have will be unavailable once I swap to another guild, correct? But I'll find them again if I swap back again to my original one (not going to happen anyway)
3) Suggestions/updated guides on skilling up Cooking? I remember one on ffxi.somepage but I'm afraid that's a bit outdated lol
Is having every airlixir drop be a +1 from an outside fracture delve NM more common then I am imagining. Never once in all the 60+ matamatas have I seen them all be +1s
and it did not have the message when popped.
Crafts?
1) Just lvl the other one to 110 your 73 will delvl.
2) Yes gp are for each guild only but now the guild you aren't a member of will remember them.
3) I'd just use the browse feature on ffixah it lists them in order of lvl with ingredients and prices of each and total to make compared to sell price... from there I'd check a few to see if it's cheaper to buy from npc and if it might be worth it to just npc a product. Generally speaking though go with recipes that either have all the ingredients be either cheap from npc or plentiful and decent price on ah. A full guide will be kinda meh since things will be different on all servers and vary even on a given server over the days/weeks
Are the pet PDT- axes still worth making? Also what's best Group 1 and 2 merits for BST? Sorry I'm sure that's been asked a thousand times by now.
Pure preference I guess:
Reward/Sic(Ready)/Call Beast recast -- I suppose Reward and Call Beast are interchangable. I personally go capped Sic(Ready) and Call Beast. If you find it absolutely crucial (maybe when soloing hard things) then capped Reward and Call Beast will help you ensure your pet is healed more and should it die Call Beast can be your fall back (But it be negated with mulsums i suppose...)
Group 2:
Feral Howl for extra ability proc in Dynamis every 5 mins, otherwise full Regen
If you enjoy using cheaper pets that has a level cap of say 90 (that sheep) then affinity will help, otherwise if you pretty much full time the expensive pets (falcor, that tiger/coeurl) there's no need, just relic hands should be enough to make them pop 99.
---
About those axes, I suppose yes it is if you don't plan to melee with your pet, but if you got the means to get those better SoA axes and don't mind spending more on pet food/mulsums then I suppose you can skip it entirely.
Yeah pet pdt axes at this point are basically only if you never melee... the extra dmg you do with better melee axes will more then likely save more dmg
I'd kinda wait on merits a little before dumping into though see what the new pets are like. Right now with new content they are basically just punching bags you dump hate onto via snarl and old content... well mostly the same thing but do a little dmg lol. So while generally the best merits call/reward recasts are rarely relavent and things like killer effects is somewhat useful since at least it ups your dps since your pet is a wiffatron.
As for t2 never liked feral howl... I mean is a short semi accurate terror and extra proc nice? Yes. However on a 5 min timer it's kinda meh. Beast healer saves you the money which who doesn't want and helps make reward/call recast even less relavent. KI is making a comeback since it actually works in delve unlike say alot of nms or all of dynamis. Especailly nice in delve since all mobs are the same type even if it's not at full potency
I don't understand why you put Feral Howl and Beast Healer as if it's one or the other. Why not both?
Beast Affinity is kinda useless if you use level capped pets, and Killer Instinct is... well, it can situationally be a nice tool I suppose. Depends what you use your BST for. If it's used for Dyna for instance you won't get anything out of Killer Instinct, while Feral Howl will grant you a cool additional proc every 5 mins, and a tool to get out of nasty situations.
