Just coming back to the game after taking a break since the end of abyssea. Trying to get into delve and I'm noticing my best geared jobs are lighter DD. So I'll be gearing up pld as my job to offer. My question is can anyone point me in the direction of an acceptable pld set. VW is pretty much out of the question, but NNI and Salvage are NP. I'm also building an aegis. Ochain required?

And you'll still need an Aegis so that you don't get one shotted by random spells (it can happen).

Completely disagree. Aegis is much more useful for anything that really warrants bringing a PLD to. (once again very little need for a PLD) Ochain is for holding adds.

I remember seeing people talking about disabling the glows from avatars/confluxes/etc. how do I do this?

I think they're just changing the .dats to a different, non-glowy version. This is one thing you could use to swap to that effect.

Either way, no one is going to take a Paladin without one or both.

Aegis is much more important than ochain for PLD relevant fights. Ochain is only important when holding many monsters at once.

Wildkeeper reives! Aegis pld makes zapdos a joke pretty much, with proper support anyways.

Does it? I lost track of the number of aegis plds I saw get demolished by it over the coarse of two kills on sylph. I'm not sure of support, but I'm sure the few that showed up with the hardcore JP shells had plenty. In the end, they were tanked and killed by armies of titans and shivas.

We had a very solid pld last night that I don't think went down once. We were able to keep the aura off almost fulltime though, I think something related to ice damage or ice MB knocks it off. It's much less threatening and takes much more damage with it off.

Ours had the aura up more often than not. Plenty of people were trying ice damage (and some JPs were trying water?), especially automatons that just default to blizzard for most of the fight, but it didn't seem to do anything by itself. I don't think there was anyone trying skillchains.

I'm fairly sure it was the skillchain thing, but I can't confirm it. I just know it dropped almost every time I saw an ice MB.

Must be skillchain, fought it for 7hrs in Shiva, lots of Shiva (avatars) doing Heavenly Strike, and most BLM frame puppets nuking with ice, aura never went down once.

Not had much time to do SoA stuff lately, but have been wondering, can you reach the Naakual in both Morimar and Marjami with the rope climbing, without needing to do any reives?

If so, pretty much lets you get easy access to all naakual besides Yorcia yeah?

Did anyone else's BG start showing post time stamps in 24-hour military time? I checked my settings and do not see an option to turn this to regular AM/PM. Been using these forums for years and never had this happen.

Ex. this post says Today 21:15 instead of 9:16 PM
