Regarding magian TP bonus/WS damage...

Do both work in either hands? I have TP bonus+100 dagger. Would I be able to use that in offhand and vice versa? How about WS damage one?

Magian Tp bonus works in either hand, but martial weapons don't. Unsure on ws damage but I'd suspect it works in both hands unless someone has tested it not to like crit damage on some weapons.

So, I haven't played FFXI is almost two years to the date. Friend convinced me to resubscribe and I reinstalled everything. Luckily, I had backed up all my macros to the FFXI server as well as my windower scripts. I was never able to grasp Spellcast when I first played so I used //exec txt commands in macros for gear swaps. However it seems these don't work anymore when I tried to use them. Any way to get them to work, or should I spend the day learning Spellcast instead?

Tomahawk doesn't work on PDT. It only eliminates weapon type resistances (IE, blunt resistance, piercing resistance, ect).

Okay, fine. How does Tomahawk work when a mob adjusts its weapon type resistances in an upward direction?

Seems pretty arbitrary, since AFAIK all weapon resistences are just PDT towards individual damage types.

No, it's not the same. Tomahawk will work on the Jailer of Temperance, it will do nothing against Cerberus. I assume if Temperance changed types while Tomahawk was up it would still be vulnerable, but it's been forever since I killed it.

well, it seems even just doing "exec tp.txt" through console causes pol to crash....

Looks like I should look into Spellcast and waste my day on that lol

Yeah the difference is pretty huge. I doubt anyone has tested it since I don't think anything besides Temperance can do that

Other key we found years ago was to only have a NIN on it, period. Even when our THF went in to poke it and swung a few too many times shit would hit the fan. So, 1 DD, preferably one with subtle blow, and support him.

edit: additional thought, I'd blue proc and brew it, shits too annoying!

In the end I basically did that. War friend came to help proc, got it, then I ate grav, rr'd, he ate grab, and I just brewed him weak. asshole nm. Got my club tho

pretty sure it'd just be TH3, 2 from /thf and 1 from sash. since the trait from setting spells is just TH1, not 'treasure hunter +1' like on equipment, that it doesn't stack.
