Alright. Cool. I'm okay with this. d('-'d)
Thanks.

Thanks.
Also if you worried about pulling initial stun pull would work even better than voke
I could be mistaken but I don't believe chatoyant is exactly equivalent to +2 affinity. I believe it was confirmed that for the affinity damage staves there was no direct equivalence from an amount of affinity to the straight damage increase from HQ staves, just a rough approximation. I could be wrong but that was what I remembered seeing. If what I said is the case then it is reasonable to believe that there isn't a direct equivalence between M acc increase from HQ staves and affinity as well. I doubt any testing has proven one way or the other though.
Kinda wished I geared this job earlier, didn't think it'd be that easy to make your pet semi-competent. Should have everything near the end of the month.
As for saving myself some gil, anyone know the bare minimum needed to kill Lost Fairy Ring for farmin' Moepapa Stone? Is it essentially the same mob as Fairy Ring from old Dynamis with the crazy dmg it deals, or is it something new? Not seeing any discussion about it on either wiki.
Just need that merit-WS change to hit so I can drop a couple Requiescat and put them into Ruinator instead.
Wiki has 2 affinity at 30 macc.
affinity is straight dmg increase. 1 is 10% just like NQ staffs and 3 is 20%. There are no 2 affinity trial staffs but doing the math it should be 15%. The difference is they are different terms so actually staff affinity adds with other affinities like atma/atmacite while nq/hq staffs multiply. That said chat has +5 to all stats which will add a little to dmg and/or macc on most things
Interesting side note: The old macc testing I saw put nq/hq staffs at +20/30 macc respectively which if your magic hit rate was still under 50% meant +10/15% magic hit rate just like the dmg increase is... which I believe is what wiki is using to derive it's +70 macc for +6 affinity since that would be +35% hit rate if under 50% and +6 affinity dmg is +35% dmg
You can solo it on BST with DiscreetLouise and a stack of Pet Food and 10+ Dawn Mulsum. There is some info on the BG Wiki discussion page, and some strategies/testimonies can be found on the FFXIAH forums.
You would need to get most of your other gear before attempting this fight though. And depending on your luck, it might be more worthwhile to just save gil and buy it. Happy hunting~
I'd bring another BST or two and a THF to assist if I did. Should make things more smoothly for multiple pops in one run.
And BG wiki has it at +15!

This is where the discrepancy is coming from: BG wiki v. ffxiclopedia wiki are completely different
Does anyone know what causes Acroliths to fall apart reliably? Sometimes in Salvage, they'll fall apart to two leg form near immediately and don't tp or seem to auto-swing at all. Other times they don't fall apart at all. Is it spike damage in short time? Number of crits in a short time?
Crits, Box Step, Violent Flourish, etc. can all break them, but they can only break if they're in one-arm mode. It goes like this:
If they start in Two Arm mode, they need to use Dismemberment (generally requires HP<25%) to drop to one-arm mode. From one-arm mode, you can break them down to legs mode as described.
What was the timing for having people warp out for entering salvage solo again? it's been a while since i had to care so i forget when exactly to do it.
So it does. Neither has links to magian macc testing but both have links thru their macc pages that HQ staffs are 30. Though the robonosto blog does purpose and setup testing conditions for testing macc lol. He just doesn't do it or post about it. So how bgwiki has 15 is curious. Did someone do testing and not link it. Or did they transcribe 15% hit rate as 15 macc?
Thanks, Byrth, that was bugging me.
Khajit: Whoever's entering, the first prompt will be:
None
Zone version 1
Zone version 2
Choose whichever, then the next prompt is something like "Are you ready" "yes or no". Highlight yes, say you're ready. Other pick a game clock time or use vent to coordinate. As soon as you see warp animations/chat, hit enter.
In a nutshell: second prompt, warp, accept second prompt.
Can bst solo krabkatoa without too much annoyance or should i just find some people to duo?
I remember there being a way to view the ammount of Weapon skill points you had complete/left to complete? something with equiping, recording a number, zoning, un-equiping, re-equiping and recording the new number? or something...
my question: Is there a way to see how many points you've either 1) completed 2) have left to complete when it comes to the level 240-250 range quest Weaponskills points??
EDIT: NVM, did a little research and found the thread asking the same thing, here, and the tool mentioned there still works
Curious to know how WARs are hitting the gear haste cap atm.
Right now, I'm using Zelus, Phasmida, and Ravager's Legs + Feet.
Ares + 1 mitts worth using if Phorcys salade (and Dirs maybe?) are available?
Anyone have a POL Utils copy paste for changing all of the beast men mobs that require JA to proc?
