You cant stop time by engaging in dialog, however anything that puts you in a cutscene (including teleporting around) will stop time. Hence why buffs last slightly longer than expected in NNI.

anything with a cutscene sure, but it's easier, though not quite perfect, to just jump around between confluxes

If you are just skilling up I wouldn't use RR. Stick with triple attack and such. Your pet wont really need to be all that strong defensively fight those. Plus 1 of the triple attack atmas gives -pdt. If you really want hard to kill pets keep it under 50% and use ducal gaurd

So Lion, Ducal Guard, and Apoc for laziness. Looks like I get to have fun farming Grauberg fame off that one quest so I can even unlock Ducal Guard.

Wasn't sure whether to ask in the gimp thread or not, but wtf is with the amount of BLMs lately using that Maleficus scythe? Every time I've done VW this past week, there's at least one BLM using it. I was under the impression it was garbage up against the HQ ele staves (NQ also?), which every BLM should at least have in modern XI (or Chatoyant if they're sane) if they can't be arsed to do magian staves.

is there any know problme with movement speed?
I randomly run really slow, like gravity speed (but everytime i checked and i didnt have any debuffs up).
But most of the time i was low HP, is this a new update or something?
For example I pull many frogs in aby and was running just normal, but after a few hits yellow/red HP, i was suddenly running slower without any debuffs up, almost gravity speed

Assuming you're not using any third-party stuff tinkers with movement speed, my guess would be your system possibly overheating, and it's underclocking itself to cool off. FFXI doesn't play nicely with over/underclocking last I checked.

im on xbox so no third party tools and i guess the xbox shouldn´t overheat from ffxi?

Are there guides somewhere for how to do dynamis clears now? I've not entered cities in years and years (pre dynamis change) but need to get clears for friends' new chars. If not can someone tl;dr them for me please?

City clears are pretty easy if you're on an evasive job with shadows and a stun of some sort. Just blink tank boss + any adds and stun the boss when its casting Death (/DNC Violent Flourish works).

tl;dr is farm normal NMs in the zone until they drop a Bijou, pop the zone boss and have at it.

Angra Mainyu is a bit of a pain still because of chainspell death and pets. You can't kite the dragons all the way out anymore (you'll get kicked out of the engagement zone), so you have to have a kiter in the area, plus possibly a healer to support them (They pop the NM). Can either chainspell his chainspell or get his HP really low before he chainspells so he teleports away and chainspells at the same time so you can just run away from him until he runs out of chainspell.

The original zone bosses (for the zone clear) only need the corresponding Bijou to pop, yeah. These drop off of the free spawning NMs in the zone.

There's HQ versions of the old bosses that take like 4-5 items to pop but they arn't needed to progress, they just have some (mostly) antiquated drops.

It's a bit better than Jin, but if you have the means to get a kannagi and want to be serious about NIN (which, if you're thinking of using the extremely limited WS merit space on Shun, you better be), then get a Kannagi.

Cair is right. Just brew 6 @ a time using sanguine and suckless; that's how you should do it.

Thats a good 45 seconds if its your DD whos popping it, probably a minute and a half if its your mage who popped it...which during that 45 seconds your mage is running up the cliff and you have no mage, Apademak will probably cast a spell, fail to interrupt it, and then fulm and possibly kill you before you've gotten your whm in range. good job, you either just died, or you're now actually putting forth substantial effort to recover WHEN if you had just fucking killed it where it spawns, it would be DEAD.
