The only way to test would be a ridiculously long process. I dont know who'd have the patience for it. I'd say wear both, better safe than sorry?

I heard somewhere they nerfed enmity gain of Cure 1-4, is there an updated table for Kanican's Enmity Table? Found in: http://kanican.livejournal.com/30142.html
Figuring out if Cure cheat is still a legit tactic on pld (ya I know I know lolpld and loltank)
It's still one of the only ways to generate CE on a target that you can't easily damage. They didn't change Cure enmity directly, but they did it through a "Tranquil Heart" trait:
https://www.bg-wiki.com/bg/Tranquil_Heart
Basically, PLD/(RDM, SCH, or WHM) will generate less Enmity with their Cures than if they were any other sub. At the same time, Cure potency was pretty substantially buffed so you might still generate as much Enmity/MP as before even with Tranquil Heart. Now that PLD gets Phalanx, though, there are less compelling reasons for them to want to sub RDM and you could just cure cheat more efficiently with a different sub.
Well I guess it depends on whatever other gear he has access too, but using these sets:
Astolfo x2 (pdt) Hagneia Stone Ocelomeh +1 Portus Brutal Suppa Toci Brego Rajas Epona's Atheling Twilight Phorcys Ferine +2
vs.
Astolfo x2 (pdt) Hagneia Stone Phorcys Portus Brutal Suppa Porthos Phorcys Rajas Epona's Atheling Twilight Phorcys Ferine +2
These 2 sets are pretty equal, according to the dps spread sheet, (the first set is ahead by 2 dps) so it's really personal preference. But without phorcys, and switching in af3+2, the first set pulls ahead by more, so ya toci's and hq head would be better.
I wouldn't bother. You're wasting a lot of MP doing it (I, at least, am hardly ever in a party with access to Refresh), and most things will hit hard enough that you won't really need to artificially drop your HP anyway. Never mind that there's no way in hell I have the space to carry around HP up/down gear...
Thanks for the clarification Byrthnoth, didn't even know that JT existed tbh. Fair amount of shit changed since i last played heh.
I think I can make +400 hp easily just by bringing 2 extra pieces from what i already have. It's probably not worth bothering like you said especially if we're fighting things that matter, but I like having lots of options. Hell it gives me an excuse to look forward in doing things lol
Is ffxi compatible with macs? Its a newish computer (2ish years) running leopard. I don't know what that means but that's what the gf has said. Just looking to get her set up to she what she thinks of the game.
Last I checked, XI doesn't wrap nicely with WINE without having to go in and check/test some stuff, as it's pretty crash happy when it comes to tabbing away from the virtualized fullscreen window, or using the mouse at all.
There's bootcamp, but it's a pain having to swap OS anytime you want to play FFXI.
I've no idea what WINE or bootcamp is, but i'm sensing that it's more trouble than it's worth to get it to work on a mac?
Bootcamp is Apple's software for dual-booting a Windows installation onto your Mac. As for Wine........more trouble than it's worth for the average joe if it's something that doesn't wrap without tweaking necessary.
What about using Parallels? I have heard that it's pretty good on current macs.
Forgot about Parallels. XI was 'functional' on 4.0 and above years ago when I tried it, but the frame-rate on my MacBook Pro (about 5 years old now) was reminiscent of playing it on PS2, and it made my machine heat up like a mofo as it was maxing out one of my cores in the process.
Isn't a free app though, you still need a Windows disc/ISO, and Snow Leopard and above for the modern releases.
[EDIT] Found one of my old pics trying it on Parallels 3.0, fun times.

Others gave suggestions, but I personally found this method to be fastest, although a bit costly.
1> Find recipe, doesn't really matter as long as you are capable of skilling on it.
2> Feed Fewell
3> When impurities reach around 30%, Operate Safety Lever.
4> Repeat for a while.
5> Before the synth fails, spam Operate Pressure Handle.
Each time you feed fewell, operate safety lever, and operate pressure handle you will have a chance of skill-up.
The important one is the pressure handle. With high pressure it's very easily spammed for skill-up chances.
This method helped me get 80 Synergy much faster than just spamming fewell, though it is a bit more work.
It also costs A LOT OF A DARK FEWELL. So I wouldn't recommend trying it if you don't think you can afford a couple stacks of dark fewell.
Martyr wut. When would you ever need martyr? Devotion is good, but I can count on one hand the amount of times I've used it in the last year. Protectra V gives 220 Def (with boots). That's gonna be better almost all the time. Especially after the defence update.
Rng T2 recycle for AF2+2 beret proc as well as saving gil.
Rare situations martyr is useful. Like you need instant cure and just got silenced. Devotion is nice but rarely used I admit. But lolv protectra is useless as is right now. It takes you from mob being capped pdif on you to still being capped... after the update maybe it might actually be useful but as is right now can't see wasting 5 merits for another 45 def. If you know of a situation right now where that makes much if any difference I'm all ears
Can 95 Apoc DRK, 99 Apoc DRK and 99 emp harp brd take on Arch-Omega easily? I would assume /nin for both DRKs to be the best option to minimize any chance of death due to missed Catas/heals etc.
From what I understand about the fight, that should make it pretty laughable. Probably have the BRD go /WHM for status cures and haste.
Possible error if someone sees the pouch drop but is out of range of the khim dying?
