Likely extreme overkill with that.

5 DD, brd cor pld whm whm (as many smns as you can kill pops in 1hr). Anything extra is just a bonus. PLD flashes or vokes PW-main between forms and supertanks adds - they attack whoever has hate on transform.

DD can drop every form in ~60sec, if not *way* less, unless hydra spams shield. 2nd last form, get it low (~20%), move dd all to 1 pt, full buffs, pd, kill it and kill final soon as it pops. May help to have PLD hold main until dd wipe lamps out on 2nd last, so that you can get hate on the PLD while you buff.

Fulm/GoH are annoying but not fatal usually, if you have a spare slot bring a sch|rdm|blm to stun that.

Final form will pop 8 avatars for astral at least once, individually anyone should survive one hit without PD, but soon as PD is on everyone else should spread out to avoid eating multiples. Avatars will pop near anyone on the hate list, anywhere in that room.

If you want to do it super-lowman I'm sure could get away with less, but 10+smn mules isn't unreasonable I imagine. If you have more, more DD and just expect to die when flows start on final form.

Seems like you're grasping at straws a little there. You wont waste 5 merits on 45 def, but you will waste them on a JA that might possibly come in remotely useful in some one off rare instance that's unlikely to ever actually happen. Maybe like, against an Imp NM with Stifling Tantara... but why would you be in AoE range? It would be such a remotely rare situation, I really can't see the justification for it at all.

And since when would Pro5 be only another 45 def? It would be one of three things:
1) +100 def (Casting it instead of protectra4)
2) A saved stratagem charge from not accessioning Pro5.
3) A saved 400~ MP from not casting Pro5 6 times.

Bigger picture etc.

Definitely 80 for any of the 80k+ Tatter items. I went 1/350ish on 6stp 3da.

Is there any proof Synergy level matters at all?
I've been long under the impression that higher level had no effect on it, and just made recipes easier to complete. Though it's not like I have a large sample size.

Either way 80 Synergy is relatively easy to get, so worth shooting for one way or the other.

You can diaga the avatars and run away, they don't usually AF instantly. As you said if you have a full DD party it will likely only get one AF off before it dies

If you are 2-3 boxing running the avatars away helps with the absolutely ridiculous lag they cause.

Personally I wouldn't since those situations never come up for me so I went full devotion but it has a rare use. But ok I'll play when will


1) 100 def matters on the whole party AND

2) you not have a strat to use which will almost always be done in offtime before fights AND

3) you don't have the mp to pro 5 everyone indivually again usually done before fights...

I was going to blow my HKC on trying to get an Olympus sash for my mule. How viable would cleaving the tauri down be? I have a decent PDT set but not capped. Could have a rdm and whm healer without much trouble.

That asked, what would be the minimum setup if I tossed some friends together to do it?

If I'm remembering correctly, BLU can solo it, so you probably shouldn't have an issue.

Blu kills them with add effect stun spells so they don't level up. You should be fine war + healer thou as long as you try to kill them all in the same ws.

BLU, RDM, and PLD can all solo it as far as I know. A cleaving duo shouldn't have trouble, so long as you keep the kills as even as possible
