Well, Langelik exists and G-horn's skill isn't needed to hit the 800 skill cap of any spell, so 95 horn really just gives ballads (+2), scherzo (+2), and Inventory Space +~5 (Minuet, March, Ballad, Madrigal, Elegy, Lullaby) at this point. It also gives a boost to B-tier songs that I probably wouldn't bother to carry an instrument for otherwise (Etude, Scherzo, Threnody, Carol, Mambo, Mazurka), but the reason I wouldn't bother carrying an instrument for them is because I wouldn't generally use them. If I cared about Requiem, I'd use Requiem Flute.

Anyway, Dotsudoku is right for "the prepared bard." You're totally capable of obtaining alternatives that ape 95 G-horn and render it down to Ballad +2 (6MP/tick refresh with 90 Daurd). I personally wouldn't want to waste that much time hunting for random instruments when G-horn is so easy to get especially if it's one of my long term goals, but to each his own.

I can attest to how obnoxious it is to hunt down the necessary instruments, but in the context of "this or this", I imagine that the OP doesn't think Ghorn is quite so easy to make. Like you said, to each their own.

And Mdk, I didn't mean to imply that 95 or 99 horn is bad, just that DDB should probably be prioritized if you're of limited means

If I started a brand new account, how far could I get in missions (mainly RotZ and CoP stuff is my interest, but not going to skimp out on game) completely solo minus the key thing in CoP that needs two people to unlock? Time isn't an issue, just looking for something to do with my spare time. I'm guessing with the uncapped fights CoP is almost entirely soloable now, but something better than a wild guess would be nice

I can't see you having any issues with Zilart until you hit Sky and Divine Might. I think for that and the final fight in the nexus you'd need help. I recently dual boxed the final fight and whilst it wasn't exactly terrible it's busy. You're going to need Rank 6 for Zilart.

With CoP a friend found Tenzen a headache solo just because of the time limit/auto end aspect of the fight.

You may need some help with ToAU but probably not until the last mission or two.

You could probably get pretty far, but it might require decently gearing a few jobs for individual fights (some cop fights where you have a cure an NPC would need a good healing job, some fights might need Ochain PLD, some fights might needBLU). If you have the means to Dual box though, then you can probably do about 99% of it (divine might and final ToAU fights might give you trouble).

Unless you meant Empyrean harp, then I agree with you because relics are easy to make. I just want to know if I should 99 great sword or continue with my plans on horn. 95 horn would just be an inventory saver because I have Langelik + others. Because of this, I think I should just sell the currency and go with the 99 upgrade.

Well to answer your question, if the decision is between making a 95 horn before having completed a 99 harp or finishing a Rag upgrade, you should most certainly go with Rag.

That said -and I'll leave it be beyond this- the decision that would actually make the most difference in yours and everyone around you's productivity is to 99 an Empyrean harp before starting a horn or finishing a Rag.

Buuuut, if you insist on looking for it, Altepa can have some, sometimes, maybe, in the summer.

Kuzotz will have fire weather more often in the late summer and early autumn, often about once every 3-4 vana'diel days, but Elshimo will have fire weather in the mid-late summer (and almost never outside of that). Halvung and Meriphataud allegedly can have fire weather, but the NPC will almost never predict it (I've never seen, but have gone out and BAM HEAT WAVES IN ZHAYOLM) Volbow's fire weather is rarer than Kuzotz and will pretty much never appear w/o a forecast. (It can happen in Kuzotz and Elshimo rarely, but oftentimes the NPC will correctly say there's gonna be heat waves for those regions)


I could be imagining all this shit so idk, I do know, at least in Elshimo/Kuzotz but I imagine nearly everywhere, fire weather won't occur at night. It also seemed to depend on the region, but it typically won't appear before 9:00-11:00 game time and often wouldn't persist past 16:00, if ever.

Thanks! Basically what I was thinking then. If necessary I can activate old account to dual box things, but may have someone starting with me so may just be a matter of planning ahead with leveled jobs

Yes. They straight up increase ftp they do not give tp bonus
