AF3+2 is fine really, get a AF2+2 horn, chatoyant staff.

Because I like doing them Ill prolly pick up the ice/wind magian staves since as far as my reading has shown, garuda and shiva are heralded as the best. Also I have been playing smn for 2 days and even I can see how fucking epic a 99 smn magian staff is O_o

Why on earth would they have any value to a casual summoner? Perp costs and timers are a joke with Chatoyant and a few pieces of NQ AF2/AH gear

I consider a solo event I can do in a couple days casual. I was more talking about armor than the staves though, since as I see smn has a ws/idle equivalent of sets in idling/BPing, and I wanted to know if there were any key macro swap pieces I couldnt do without, vs what macro swap pieces really aren't that great.

An example would be flee pants or +jig duration macro swaps, vs something like +step accuracy macro swaps.

I'm fine with some macro swapping but I'm not going to go out there and get every single little piece for every marginal little +5 seconds to duration or +5% potency bullshit.

Thats what I meant by keeping inventory minimal. preferably about 16 pieces of armor, so 2-3 macro swaps, then ice/wind staves and chatoyant for rest.

Are flickering/disappearing textures a normal thing with modern radeon cards? I just reinstalled the game yesterday and played a bit and it can be pretty annoying in some areas. I have a Sapphire Radeon HD7850 and *I think* the most recent drivers? Is this one of the cases where you need to downgrade your drivers for the game or anything else?

Because the staffs actually making gearing up easier. -avatar perp gear is generally bigger pain in the ass to get than generic pet armor and BP stuff. Magian staff + ring + body + feet, if I don't have the staff and use chatoyant I need an entire 4 more -perp I gotta hunt down.

Can anyone walk me through my options if I am based in the EU and want to preorder SoA for my NA character? I can see issues with billing looming as SE is asking for my billing address and isn't allowing UK but if I use an NA address I can see issues looming with my bank... Anyway to pay with Paypal or something similar?

Talking about the z-fighting when polygons start clipping into one another for no rhyme and reason? Happens on both Radeon and nVidia, driver-based for the most part from my experience.

Oddly enough on my rig I don't have it, except for when I enter certain zones, like WoE. Not sure if there's a driver option you can force just for XI that remedies the issue though.

I pre-order withouth a problem from the US Amazon. All you need to do is to create an account and provide an US postcode when registering. Rest of the stuff won't matter afterwards.

No its not, the staves are far more of a pain in the ass than pretty much any of the perp gear. With decent gear and chatoyant staff you can keep avatars out, without favor, and BP rage every time its up indefinitely assuming you are subbing something sensible.

Beating a dead horse but smn is quite possibly the slowest solo job in the game by a considerable margin and isn't capable of doing anything more than other solo jobs. If you enjoy taking 20mins to kill things that should take you 5 then go ahead, otherwise there are a number of alternatives that will work far better with less work.

Dunno if it's the same, but i've ordered stuff from amazon.co.uk with a US visa card and had no problems. Your bank/CC company might flag an overseas transaction though so you might want to call and give them a heads up.
