Uh, have you actually counted the shadows? They (the shoes) definitely work, and default icons say "4+".

Well for "best" sets you could aim at stuff like toci's+HQOcelo, or Porthos Byrnie and blahblah, but I suppose you don't want to spend too much time/money on that, or farm him a Phorcys Body for Ruinator lol
TBH you'd be fine with 4/5 AF3+2 plus Brego Gloves or any other Haste+4 gloves.
4/5 = all but hands, altough you may want hands for WS (their use for Sic/Ready is arguable, but still, I guess you could use them for that as well).
It also depends on how you want to gear up your BST. Do you want to focus on PET stats? Then Kupo Head (Ard has it, I made him get it) or Spurrer Head, Moepapa stone (Ard has it, bought him one), Augmented Armada feet (pet haste +4).
Do you want to focus on your own damage? Then 4/5 AF3+2, Brego gloves and Twilight Belt puts you at 26% haste cap.
Do you want a hybrid set? Without Porthos Byrnie you don't have a lot of options, but you could probably go for Spurrer, AF3+2 body, Brego, AF3+2 legs, Ryuga Sune-ate (Ardengo has a pair, altough they belong to me), Moepapa Stone
If you've never used BST Dyna I don't really know what to suggest, a lot depends on how much competition you have on mobs (i.e. how many you can pull at the same time) and how you find yourself playing better. There are those who do not like a stronger/faster pet because it forces them to use heel more often, for instance.
For Ruinator you don't really need anybody to suggest you pieces, I'm sure you can pick STR items yourself. AF3+2 hands are really nice, for instance.
Don't really need a lot more sets, well a Reward set maybe. Get Ogre Gloves, Augment AF2+2 feet, and items like Twilight Head/Body are nice for the stats they give during Reward.
Another piece of AF2+2 you will definitely want it's gloves. The +2 version makes the call beast pet spawn at your own level 100% of the times. Not worth to augment it unless you decide to get merits in Beast Affinity.
AF2+2 body is worth if you decide to augment it (makes Familiar very very powerful)
As for merits now
Group1: 5/5 Killer, and either 5/5 Sic or 5/5 Call Beast. I loved call beast when I was doing BCs at 75, but tbh I never needed it in dyna. You don't need 5/5 sic either, normally, but on some pets you do. For example with DipperYuly it's awesome to spam Noisome Powder to proc mobs AoE, but that requires 2 charges, having those merits (and a Charmer's Merlin from Dragua) makes it easier to keep spamming Noisome Powder. In most other situations you probably won't have issues with timers because you won't get TP fast enough, even with a smart use of Spur.
Group2: 5/5 Beast Healer, too much awesome, then at least 1/5 Feral Howl (additional proc JA every 5 mins). Beast Affinity is Useless if you deploy uncapped jugs (Falcorr, Yuly etc), but if you wanna use capped jugs then yeah, u're gonna need this too.
How important is going from 25% to 26% haste for gear cap?
It really depends on total haste. Assuming the lowest possible 25% haste, which is 251/1024, versus the highest possible, which is 256/1024, you only lose 0.6% damage, but if that 5/1024 you're missing is the last thing you needed to cap total haste, then the loss would be of 2.5%.
Well, total haste and the rest of the equipment, of course.
WAR/SAM
Phorcys/Rav/Brutal/Rav
Armada/Rav or Avant+1/Rajas/Tyrants
Atheling/Phos/Rav/Rav
Just thinking of squeezing a few more attack points from Ninurta's if that 1% is really unnecessary. Mostly because I can cap haste on everything else with Ninurta's except Warrior.
Sechs gave a pretty good BST gear rundown, however its the monster trousers+2 which augment familiar, not the body.
Also adding an HQ bonnet ( brave or stout) will reduce reward recast a lot.
The Ferine +2 feet are excellent to feet if haste is capped, and also excellent WS feet.
If you start to focus on more advanced gear, then 4/5 skadi+1 are the best for BST tp. (Phorcys legs actually beat skadi +1, but the difference is almost negligible.)
How do you get Empy's to show up on your FFXIAH page? My relic is there but my empy's arent
Cheers Sechs. I doubt I'll use him in Dynamis, I hate it enough as is <.<
Not really sure what I'd use his Bst on. Probably shit like Odin and things.
But in short I need a TP set, a pet: set, a ruinator set and a reward set and I'm pretty good to go right?
Guess so?
For Reward: the single best piece you can get is Augmented AF2+2 feet, altough the non augmented one is pretty awesome too. Remember that if you have Novennial or Decennial ring, a single Tav run is enough to get 20k XP (wonder if the "XP campaign" SE launched today is gonna work in Dynamis too... that would be pretty awesome). Anyway if you wanna go Tav hit me up, I still have a couple of trials there. We did get Ardengo access to Tav, seemed easier than getting him access to Xarc (he's missing Beauc win) Count on me for some Tav runs!!! Other than this item and Ogre Gloves (don't bother with +1) you want to equip MND+ gear, since it affects the amount of health your pet gets back. Hence why I suggested Twilight Body & Head, but Ardengo doesn't have those iir.
For Ruinator: just get STR/Att stuff, and elemental gorget/belts since TP carries through all the hits. I use snow myself. AF3+2 hands and feet are excellent for Ruinator. Mekira-oto for head and avant+1 for legs. Body uh... I dunno. Maybe some of those recently released bodies that you can get off the AH? Speaking of which, Calma Breastplate is an excellent TP body for hybrid sets.
For Pet gear: Ardengo already has 2x PDT axes, not sure if level 99 but he has them. I also made him get the awesome Anwig Salade with Pet Haste 5% and PDT-10%. You will also want the Ferine Necklace (Yaanei I think?), maybe the Sabong Earring (Meeble, DA+2%), augmented Armada feet and what else... hmm well you can get decent augments on the ACP body and ASA legs too probably.
Also for convenience remember that aside the 8% augment u can get on ASA legs, Skadi and Skadi+1 boots are the only movementspeed item BST can equip.
You'd probably also want mix tp/pet set for pet tanking relatively hardhitting things that you can also melee, idle/regen set, acc and waltz sets for dnc jas (might as well use the stuff you carry around for them anyway), recast set for shadows if you ever /nin, and a primal rend set if you ever need to build amber in aby. Not a 'set', but make sure you macro af2+2 gloves into call beast.
EDIT: And augmented af2+2 legs for familar, +10% pet haste and +10% pet max hp for 40 minutes out of every hour is pretty awesome.
Ehr wut?
I thought that "Familiar" was an enhanced buff that your pet receives.
This buff normally lasts 30 mins, cannot be dispelled and while it lasts your pet gets +10% HP.
In case that your pet is a charmed one, it will also last 30 mins instead of the normal duration decided by +charm gear (I used this trick to solo stuff at sacrarium, charming VT hecteyes at level 50)
Augmented AF2+2 legs "adds" 10% haste to this buff, and makes it so it lasts 40 mins instead than 30.
I assumed this buff "wore" on charmed pets (making them go uncharm) and jugs pet too, after the lasting time elapsed.
You're telling me that instead it works differently and it lasts for the full duration of a jug pet once used? O.O That's kinda... awesome if true. What happens if you use it multiple times over the same jug pet?
It's easy to test for yourself if you'd like. The method I used was to Familiar a jug pet in Abyssea, lower its health below 50% and use Healing Salve (note how much is restored). Do the same thing like 40+ minutes later - you get the same amount restored (and feel free to keep checking at the 60-min mark, the 90-min mark, you'll always get the same result). The Familiar effect (and associated bonuses like Haste+10% from AF2+2 legs) remains until the pet is dismissed or killed, it doesn't wear off. Also, Familiar doesn't stack if used multiple times.
The Charm duration mechanic is completely separate and is only related to Charmed monsters in the wild.
Familiar/af2+2 legs are better than I thought than, good to know.
Wow... pretty awesome then, I didn't know!
Altough I use BST mainly in Dynamis, not sure if I would want my pet to have 10% more haste. I find it annoying to have to heel that much more often. Maybe I could just give up Moepapa stone and go back to Twilight.
Sigh... fookin trials. Let's see which zone is required.
Uhm Qufim, not too bad I suppose.
Not sure if I want to bother though.
AF3+2 SAM body beats Usu +1?
