To answer my own question, renaming music058.bgw(located at C:\Program Files (x86)\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\sound9\win\music\data) got rid of the title screen music. yay.

I could start with removing your post, if you would like.

The moderators are reading the threads, but things are being let to run a bit loose due to how excited people are about the expansion. That's why you'll see some people getting to start their own threads that would have been par for the course when BG had a Standard forum, which would have been closed and/or redirected to the RQT threads up until yesterday. It isn't as if this will never happen again. It will; things will die down, and everything will eventually go back to normal, though perhaps with a bit more liveliness than before (if people who returned for the expansion stick around).

Considering that we have a number of regularly-updated threads dedicated to specific aspects of the expansion, and that they are being updated—on top of that, considering that the BG Wiki is being expediently updated just about every moment—you can find the information you seek.

If you can't handle all these whippersnappers making so much commotion in your normally peaceful retirement home, I suggest going off on a fishing trip for a few days. Or weeks, maybe.

Yeah, I wasn't meaning to be an ass, sorry if it came across that way. It's just that there's a lot of crap you have to wade through still looking for new info as people discover it. I guess I just recall the days of old when shit would be locked/adjusted quite promptly.

At the moment, a fair chunk of the moderators are distilling the information and putting it up on BG Wiki. I plan to eventually start consolidating some threads, but the problem with that is twofold: one, it breaks any links that went to that thread directly, and two, it may confuse new and/or returning users (by making them believe their thread has been deleted rather than moved/merged). It may make things seem a bit chaotic, but after so much quiet for so many years, it's good to get noisy.

This might be a dumb question, but what plugin is for Windower 4 that makes you have to hit enter twice to send what you type? That thing is really annoying for me and I would like to shut that off.

3800 files and change. ~2 GB in size (I used the 3rd party dl and it unzipped to a little more than 1.8 GB - .7z is awesome, for the record. The 3rd party dl was only 185 MB)

Ok since reducing monster attack is a lot more important now I would like to get some info of most effective ways to do it?

How strong is Amano add effect?
Which BLU spell is most effective to do it?
What attack downs effects will stack (beside bio + any other)
Any WS that would be useful for that?

IIRC, Tidal Roar is the best "defense down", and Bio III stacks with it(and is the only of its kind)

MNK/war without counterstance but in counter set? I believe you can wear a set that gives 24% haste 20-25%PDT (dark ring or defending ring ) and around 48% counter (45% without moonshade).

Or just go /blu and keep cocoon up when CC is used + add bio2 and att down from whatever best source when fighting boss?

Is anyone else experiencing insanely long log in times for the POL part? I'm in Bahrain, the wifi in this hotel is decent, but wow! It takes me about 3x longer then it did when I was in Diego Garcia, and that internet was insanely slow.
