Except it was Dexter who decided Yates was the Bad Guy, because Dexter saw the scars. Vogel's just namin' names for "might be"s, but Dexter's the one who looked at the scar and said, "It's him!" Vogel's playing along like she doesn't know better, or she might be altering method, or... I dunno. I don't trust her even a little bit. But I am pretty damned sure she killed Dex's dad. That he was murdered by *someone* was obvious before this season... just didn't know who had the motive. It could be the retired/unretired chief, too. He's tight with Vogel, and he's definitely skeevy when it comes to actually following the lines. He'd kill/let someone be killed, I think, if it followed his own interests-- remember Dex's dad covering for him after some shady stuff in the flash back. I dunno. I could be wrong, but I think there's gonna be some house cleaning going on. Ev'rb'dy dies.

Good point. It hadn't even occured to me that it was Dexter who pinned him as the Big Bad Guy because of his scars. And since the scars are the only thing that connects him to the brain surgeon murders there's no way he was the one that did it.

Oh man, I hope so much that something awful happens to Matthews. I've hated that prick for 8 solid seasons. Fuck that guy. I kinda hope Quinn has something to do with it, the way that the case he's on is going.

Also Masuka did the blood tests, she's definitely his daughter. He wanted her tailed because he doesn't trust her motives completely, not because he thinks she might not actually be his daughter.

Voegel was getting "hers" and "his" boxes before Yates saw Dexter bust into his home. He didn't know that Dexter was working with Voegel until he heard him on the phone with her. I think *VOEGEL* is the bad guy. She's setting Dexter up to kill her old psycho patients who are still whackin' folks. I think she's dying, and she wants her psychopath to make the world a better place, by fixing all the people she couldn't. Also, Dex's dad didn't commit suicide. He was going to turn Dexter in, so she killed him. Essentially, Voegel is the season bad guy, Yates was just a killer-of-the-week in a more red herring way than usual.

Didn't think Yates was the brain surgeon for the above reasons as well. Had thought Vogel might be using Dexter to clean house, but that was as far as I took it.

Highlight of the episode for was when I snickered at 'You're a fucking saint.'

I was talking about one of the phone conversations Deb was having with Elway. The only reason I was slightly amused was she called him a saint. I'd been waiting for some kind of reference like that to pop up.
