did it bother anyone else when Dexter and Hannah were chillin on Deb's couch with a wide fucking open door in front of them and a partially glass door next to them? um, bobby federal marshall is going door to door bro, what the fuck are you gonna do if he pokes his head in and you get caught red handed?

Dex needs to ship homegirl out of town and meet up with her after, not sure why he is making it so difficult. hell he could have just let her leave at the end of last episode and been like "hey babe I'll come meet up with you XOXO"

I'd argue that even the worst seasons of this show have been better than this current one. Jesus fuck. Not that it was ever air tight on the plot holes or feasibility, but man. The last couple posts here nailed it. What the fuck even. So dumb.

the problem is, for all their bullshit about the show heading to a conclusion, there is so far absolutely nothing suggesting impending doom or actual stakes. There has been no payoff whatsoever just "oh look here's another season about a random serial killer, also some bullshit about dexter being in love, and then in an episode or two suddenly there will be a minor buildup to a conclusion.

yea... there's no real overarching storyline besides Vogel, which in itself isn't a conflict, just a character. everything gets wrapped up too quickly. "Oh here train this kid!" "Oops he's dead." "Dexter save me from my abusive rich husband!" "Oops I killed him." Just a ton of throw-away characters this season.

And now it's Vogel's son, who appears with 3 episodes left in the damn series.

They might have been better served making Hannah's husband more of a central baddie, only if they had casted a better actor, like the gay dude from last season. He was a boss.

That's because they've killed anyone who has even come close to resembling a long term nemesis (Brian, Doakes, Lundy, Trinity, LaGuerta). The tension with wondering when Deb was going to find out help guide the show through season 5 and 6, but now that that entire buildup is over, there wasn't much left to look forward to. With BB, we were always wondering when Hank was going to find out, or if Jesse was going to put things together. With LOST we knew that shit on the island would be explained (somewhat) and that Jack and Locke were going to have at it. But with Dexter, it's just simply another season with the last 2-3 episodes being the "finale" of the series.

Personally, I care about what happens with Dexter and Hannah, but it kinda loses some effect when she is completely absent the first half of the season.
