what the hell was that shit?
guyz all u need is love!
I am dissapoint
I'm not going to read this because a show should be entertaining and valuable in and off itself, not because of someone's commentary
my friend went to art school, university level, and told me about these people that would get A's for absolute pieces of garbage and would say things like "When I created this, I felt like I was being born" as if this could attribute meaning and value to a piece of trash
Having attended art schools, it's pretty much a problem of them not telling people with shit talent to GTFO and actually giving teacher time to those who do (because they're so busy wasting time on those who don't). Alas, I blame the whole paying tuition thing and schools always wanting more money.
Personally, I would have liked someone at the station to uncover that Deb killed LaGuerta and that Dexter was the Bay Harbor Butcher. Although, prior to the final episode so they had time to deal with it. Deb could join them in Argentina!
Dex is/was a smart guy. Even if he faked his death and ran away, he could find a hundred better options for a new life than lumber mill truck driver with a shack to sit in between shifts...
Very dissapoint overall. But, It's been that way in varying degrees since Dokes died. Also, I though his relationship with Hanna was the least "earnest" one he had all series (spare the British vampire) so, that was a let down too.
Hannah is the only reason I made it through the last two seasons. I still can't get over how terrible any scene with Harrison was in the final season
I blame Hannah for the last 2 seasons suffering. Plot ruined for boner bait.
it did get too mushy in the final season but I liked their dynamic in season 7, when neither of them really trusted each other
Hannah was great in Season 7 but they totally ruined her in Season 8 by reducing her role to the "lets go to argentina" reason. It's exactly like the article Qual linked says: The writers had no clue how to deal with their 2nd/support characters.
Finale was dull until Deb died. IMHO the basic idea of Dexter going back to business (lone serial killer) was great, but the execution so bad. Imagine someone wakes up. Suddenly he realizes something is wrong and while he tries to get up, the camera zooms out and we see a kill room, end. Already ten times better than lumberjack![]()
According to show runners he's not a serial killer anymore though. The fact that no one can figure out one way or another shows just how poor the execution was.
Show should have ended with Harrison tied up in a kill room. Dexter lectures him about how disobeying Hannah almost caused her to get caught, and that leaving toys laying around is a danger to everyone.
Then he plunges a dinosaur toy into Harrison's heart. Cut to black.
This last season was so bad i forgot how it ended.. very much forgettable bullshit
finally got around to watching the rest of this season
poor execution, missed opportunities, logic fails, 3-episode story arcs, no overarching series conclusion, useless masuka's daughter and dex's babysitter's ever expanding role
wtf was that british nanny about?
wtf was that hacker dude about?
Saxon vs Dex should have played out death-note style. cat and mouse, they both try to figure out who the other is. Saxon dating deb (for info on dex), while Dex gets familiar with his new mom (for info on Saxon).
I think a stereotypical good ending would have worked. The last scene is Hannah poisoning some bad guy in Argentina and he wakes up on dex's table, involve harrison somehow.
edit: Also love the fact that Yvonne Strahovski is so hot that she can get a serial killer to not want to kill anymore.
apparently showtime refused to let the writers kill dexter lol, spinoff inc
