Oof, his kid showing up out of nowhere got a groan out of me since it basically means anyone from the past life could show up, too.
Doakes needs to come back even if he's not alive anymore.
Doakes has a twin brother:
SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKER
They got rid of the intro scene![]()
Rip Harrison =/
Well, season still had some of the typical Dexter problems and some sloppy writing, but I'd say as a revival/redemption thing it did a decent job, certainly better than S8.
Also they announced a new sequel series starring Michael C. Hall...
and the sequel series is apparently called resurrection lmao. unbelievable
so Original Sin just wrapped up. I wouldn't call it good, but it was entertaining enough (albeit sometimes for the sake of just seeing the bullshit they came up with). as you might expect it suffered a lot from "this is a prequel so we have to overly rely on 'foreshadowing' things from the original" and if you thought Dexter was too sloppy and his not getting caught in the main show strained credulity then brace yourself, haha. also the Deb storyline was painful.
also some of the cast seemed to put effort into imitating their counterparts, but young Batista just being in the exact same wardrobe and goatee did the heavy lifting
yeah, I think because my expectations were in the basement I just found enjoyment in seeing the kinds of dumb shit they came up with, not hate-watching really but more like a morbid curiosity as to just how bad it could get. I certainly wouldn't recommend watching it over countless other good shows unless that's the sort of experience you're craving.
s2 ordered lol

Cast is nutty.
first two epsiodes dropped, I haven't watched yet, currently at a 100/92 on Rotten Tomatoes which for late era Dexter is very surprising
So resurrection is damn fun.
about that...

“Dexter: Original Sin” is not returning for Season 2 after all.
Variety has learned from sources that Paramount has opted not to move forward with another season of the prequel series. A Season 2 renewal announcement went out in April, but sources say the series has in fact been on hiatus and no plans to shoot a second season had moved forward and no production dates were scheduled. The show had originally debuted in December 2024 and wrapped up its first, and now only season, in February.
Variety has also learned that Paramount is imminently planning to open a writers room for a potential Season 2 of “Dexter: Resurrection,”
