Did you go in with any specific strategy on this one? Powder Boots, THF or /THF, etc., etc.? The area is huge and the mining points can be really spread out, and it hurts that you have to go back and forth to NPC every time you mine an ore or break it. Also, did you notice anything weird with aggro? i.e. some not aggroing even when passing by aggro range? That expedition does suck pretty badly.
Edit: Also, Baalmuian Robe is gonna be the last Melisseus drop as expected, probably low drop rate (~5% or less) as a parallel to Matanca Harness off Umagrhk.
Everyone had a pair of Sprinter's Shoes, our THF has Fajin/Skadi+1 so he was able to move a little quicker, and Our BRD would mazurka himself but beyond that, nothing special like THF mains or /thf for flee. Two people did use fill mode to help see where mobs were, but nothing that rotating the camera and watching where you are going wouldn't take care of. Everyone just had to mind their surroundings and make sure to stay away from the rock piles. Having 6 people probably helped a lot in looking for the mining points and returning ore. Less people on this one just seems like it would be that much harder.
We goal 3'd this on our second attempt. Our first was a fail due to aggro.
Thanks for the comments. Totally agree that 6 (real) people who can all move on their own is definitely the best way to get this done. I'm pretty sure with 6 people and some movement speed, you'd be nearly guaranteed goal 3 if it wasn't for the aggro. But really, the aggro mechanic seems messed up. After we aggroed one the other day, we ran around just to see what the aggro range was like. Some of them you could literally run next to or even through the rock pile and they wouldn't get up. Others got up from what seemed to be even farther than normal sound aggro range.
I'm gonna put together a composite map for the wiki and I'll post it here... I'm gonna mark the mining points I remember, and if anyone can add any to that it'd be helpful, too.
Here's my marked-up composite map. It's 4 maps of Ruhotz, pretty sure it's just these four and all of the other tunnels are blocked at the ends.
I'll clean it up for the guide. The red mining points are the ones that I personally saw/used (actually I'm not even sure about that south one...). Obviously there have to be more possible points than those three, though. Purple is the starting spot. Anyone remember where any of their mining points were?
Edit: There might be another map to the west from the lower level below the stairs, not 100% sure.
Is the regen on ravana's axe known yet?
i'm fairly certain these are all the possible mining points, Sly.

Thanks! I know at least one was out in the middle of an open room which is why I marked the bottom room, but I don't think it was that one now that I think about it. It might have been the open room far northeast. The open room in the middle was a clusterfuck of maroliths on my run (there were five rock piles in that room).
Svaha has 130,000~ HP, that's a very huge amount.
Melisseus has 70,000~ HP, did Mighty Strike once aggroed and Chainspell Aero V/Comet at 52%. The only TP move we saw was Umbral Expunction a low magical damage AoE, melees didn't take any debuff they said and it can't be a version of Emetic Discharge since Melisseus had Dia and Kaustra, someone should try Dispel maybe. One of his melee hits has Poison effect. The fight lasted less than 2 min, one Shock Squall stunned him for 24 seconds.
I was just wondering. Has anybody tested Caudata Belt yet? Does it work for multi hit WS? Looks like a good piece.
About Svaha's adds, one pop each time he successfully cast a spell.
For those that have done the fight with Melisseus, what would be the minimum amount of people needed to win? Got 4 people that have the 3KIs and was wondering if the fight would be winable with something like WHM, SAM, BRD, WAR or DRK?
It should be ok but it's still a new mob, the fact he has a low amount of HP and is most of the time under Mighty Strike or Chainspell (no TP move during this time) makes him very easy. However, I heard he can do an AoE Paralyze + Doom (10 seconds) under 50%, need confirmation though.
Actually, Grannus has only 40,000 HP but an extremely potent Regen effect. His Regen and Blaze Spikes are clearly tied to the number of adds up, not his remaining HP.
1 add : 42~48 damage spikes
2 adds : 63~70
3 adds : 79~100
4 adds : 120~150
5 adds : 170~200
When the five adds are up Grannus gains 1~2% HP per tick, it's probably 100 HP regen per mob present.
He cast Slowga and Sleepga too.
JP Wiki info on Melisseus:
TP moves (Names should be right as long as the katakana version is the same as the English version)
Mandible Massacre: Single Target Doom
Sticky Situation: AoE Silence/Slow/Plague
Abdomen Assault: AoE (conal?) gravity
Umbral Expunction: (we knew this one already)
It doesn't say whether they do damage or not, but I assume they all do.
Casts Aero V/Aeroga IV/Aeroja/Meteor/Comet/AoE Debuffs, and apparently Death.
With the help of ikariiiii earlier in this thread plus the multiple attempts it took us to complete goal 3 last night, I have a pretty clear picture on the layout of Assistant 3 now, so here's a map. The 10 mining points shown are all definite locations. I believe three of the ten points are present at any given time, and they repop somewhere else once you pull the ore from one. The only additional possible location I'm not sure about is that short dead end tunnel south of the large south room. At any rate, all of the Marolith are in the blue areas, the rest of the halls are always clear (or at least were always clear on the four runs I did). It's extremely helpful to know what halls lead where and alternate routes back to Kobcha if something is blocked, so this map should help (the actual map in-game is broken up to four separate maps of Ruhotz, so it makes it very confusing to figure out what leads where until you've roamed the area for a while).

Probably important for bonecrafters - it would seem that the Meeble Claw item drops from the Meebles that assist Svaha in that battle. FFXIDB has a 2/22 drop rate on them.
