I made a "which amendment is the most important" and listed about 10 of them. Of course the 2nd is running away with the votes, and everyone is saying that the 2nd is what allows us to keep all the other rights, etc.

So I replied:

Everyone talks big about the 2nd amendment protecting the others, but where were they when the government banned fully-automatic weapons? When they banned assault weapons the first time? I don't remember any armed resistance, everyone just laid down and took it. It's a bunch of bullshit posturing, and if they ban assault weapons again, no one is going to take up arms against the government.

The funniest part? How vague those who are serious are. "Take back too direction forefathers" (or however that mangled piece of would-be english went)? What does that even imply?
There's a lot of talk about taking back things, but no concrete suggestions about how to achieve such a goal and what to do once there...

Man, impersonating one of them is easy! I say crazy shit, pepper with the right keywords (even in absurd combinations like "god-given flag") and nobody calls me out on it!
Hell, some of the shit on there makes me thing I know your country better than those idiots that both live in it and claim to love it so damn much.

I would say it's because the majority of tea baggers are just hillbilly rednecks with internet access, but I have met too many seemingly book-smart folks who are just ignorant as all fuck on anything to do with politics/social issues for me to question that statement.
