The whole thing with the + service, though, is that you can only get those games/discounted items to work as long as you remain on the + service, correct? It's the only reason I've never even attempted it outside of the month or so they gave for free after the whole fiasco with accounts being hacked a few years back.

Also, Vita memory cards are damn expensive. To have a $100 memory card for a handheld console in this day and age is a joke. That being said, I haven't touched my Vita since I beat P4G and AC3L, so I should probably grab some more titles once I have some free time.

Well yeah, but considering its 50 bucks a year, you're not exactly paying a lot to access these games. I've had it since December and I have over 25 games already. I know I can't play them all but the 6 or 7 I have had the time to play have been worth far more than 50 bucks and I know theres a few more that I'll be playing extensively once I get the chance.

You should definitely check out Gravity Rush (best new IP for Vita imo) and Uncharted and maybe Soul Sacrifice.

Basically, you can have and play the games as long as your subscription is active. If your subscription runs out, the games become inactive.

Anything you've obtained FREE gets taken away. Anything you've purchased via discounts is yours.

It isn't taken away. You just can't access it again until/unless you renew

If you cancel your subscription then you can't play those free games during that time. The minute you re-subscribe you get access to the free games again.

PlayStation 4 is “first and foremost a video game console,” Sony CEO Kaz Hirai tol reporters at the D11 conference in California today.

“The most important thing we need to do is agree and understand that the PS4 is a great video game console that appeals to video gamers,” Hirai said (via The Verge). “If we miss that part, I don’t think we get the initial establishment of the console. That formula has worked for us with all our consoles, including the PS3.

“I fundamentally believe that the initial market that we need to make sure we appeal to with any new platform … is really the gaming audience,” Hirai added (via VentureBeat. “They will be the supporters of your platform and they will help propel the installed base.”

Microsoft debuted Xbox One last week as an all-in-one entertainment device. And while PlayStation 4′s core focus is games, it will have non-game functionality, as well.

“Providing other non-game content is an area we will reveal and talk about in the coming months, but it’s first and foremost a video game console,” Hirai said.

“For us, it’s all about the gamers.”

Am I the only one who wouldn't wanna take a game I'm playing on the go with Vita? I feel like downgrading my game to play on a handheld would take away from the game experience, and I'd rather just wait to get back home to play it on my console.

Some people want and will use the option... if you don't need it then don't use it.

I think many, including myself, will find the option to be very useful. I care about graphics to a certain extent, but I spend a lot of days where I am not always home to be playing my PS3. Remote play sounds nice.

Dont forget that remote play will allow you to use the TV to watch another stuff, ala WiiU.

I think my biggest use for this will be laying in bed right before sleep. PS4 in the other room, don't want to get out of bed, whip out vita and keep playing.

Even to the extent that the Wii U does it by allowing you to play on the controller instead of the tv is actually quite useful when wanting to play a console game when other people are watching something on that tv. SMB for Wii U is played 90% of the time on the controller at my house so I am 100% for the Vita remote play option.

This. It's funny that Vita, being a handheld, rarely leaves my apartment to begin with.
I don't plan on taking games away with me anywhere, but it'll definitely be a bonus if I could take it with me when I'm not infront of the TV, or if it's being used for something else.

Is it a vital feature? Of course not, but it's a damn nice addition if they decide to enforce it.
