You probably need to level your guys to get more stats. If you just plow through, you'll eventually hit a wall because your levels are too low.

To level up, you'll need to feed your main guys with fodder. Generic monsters aren't good for exp, so you'll want to stick to pengdras and metal dragons for exp. Those are mainly available in special dungeons, or timed dungeons that open in certain windows during the day.

Those are great pulls, and you'll be set for a long time to come with those alone.

As for leveling, feeding generic monsters will bankrupt you really quickly. Sell most of the generic monsters, and only use the exp monsters I linked in my earlier post. A huge part of this game is about team management and grinding, so it's something you'll have to get used to.

Also, make sure your team is actually a team. For example, if you're using a leader that gives stat bonus to red monsters, use only red monsters. Generic monsters like Fighters, Knights, Ogres, and Goblins can be used as fillers until you get more cost.

If you post a screenshot of your current teams and monster box, I can give you some ideas on what to work on.

Your best bet would be to build a Dark team with Persephone as a leader. Or you can build Red with Ares team. The benefit to Dark is that nothing resists Dark, while Blue resists Red. So if you go with Ares for now, you'll have trouble with Blue dungeons, whereas Dark won't give you any problems. The advice below are fully applicable to either, but I'll write it with Dark in mind.

You have a 27 cost right now, and Persephone alone takes 20, so just fit in whatever dark monsters (carbuncles & fighters) you can, and as you level up, put more and more in.

Feed all of your non-red and non-dark carbuncles, goblins, and fighters to your Persephone, dark carbuncles and fighters, and evolve them when you can, team-cost permitting. The evolution materials are very simple to get at your stage, and you can get them from just grinding the low-end, color-appropriate dungeons. For example, amelits, which are needed to evolve carbuncles, drop from the Dungeon of Darkness. You can search the rest of the site for other evolution materials, and their drop locations.

Feeding costs are associated with the recipient monster's level. This is why I do not recommend feeding generic monsters like your leaders like Persephone once she gets a few levels. Generally, if it costs more gold than you gain exp, it's not worth it.

Also, if you do need gold, you can run the weekend gold dungeon under "Special Dungeons," but keep in mind that there are no Dark or Light orbs in that dungeon. Because there are only 4 kinds of orbs, though, you can get lots of combos from orbs falling, so it's pretty easy.

As a general rule, look up the dungeon in in the site above to see what's in it. Gauge if you can comfortably beat it before going in to avoid wasting stamina. And make sure when you enter a dungeon, you find a friend that has a dark-attribute boosting leader skill. Examples are Archangel Lucifers, other Persephones, Lokis, etc. You can click and hold their icons to see skill they have.

That's all I can think of for now, but it should keep you busy for a few days at least.

I would lead with a 3x lead and pair with herself with friends. Verdandi is best option. You could lead with vishnu, as you only need 1 green combo to get him started and the 2nd green combo is more damage. Also his cost is 15 so that helps. Just use vishnu and a bunch of green dudes. Then you can switch to verdandi once you can use her evod form.

what's the best way to grind through the early ranks in your opinion? I've cleared up to demeter forest but tend to be hit or miss about whether I can beat them. I've been doing the tower of trials i think, b/c it's 1/2 stamina at the moment.

Vishnu's a spike lead, and without the appropriate orb changers early on, I'm not sure it's the best approach. But he's definitely a viable option if you want to try out spike teams.

I would save your PAL points for either other rotations (monster exp materials), or the current event PEM (PAL egg machine), where you can get some neat, exclusive, though not necessarily useful monsters.

As for grinding rank, if you can get past two more sets of dungeons, you'll hit Tower of Giants, which is a much better option in terms of account exp per stamina.

1x and 2x wood combos isn't really spike. You do need to match colors to do stuff, so it's just normally playing the game. Your best bet for ranking up is just clear as far as you can. If you can ger up to hyperion lava flow are then you are fine for a while, if not then you go do tower of giants:dragons of the tower. It's a little past where you are. What would probably be a really good idea is get a evod green odin friend and go vishnu paired with that. You should kinda plow through everything easily

I meant it mainly in the sense that Vishnu provides no HP/RCV multipliers, and it isn't always feasible to rely on a friend leader for that. Persephone's 1.5x to all (once evo'd), while not the best from an efficiency perspective, provides a much more forgiving experience for a new player.

But that is absolutely a subjective thing, and Vishnu's 15 cost does give more options earlier on, so definitely try both.

Just find an Awoken Kagutsuchi friend, it'll carry you effortlessly up to around ~Tomb of the Saint-Deep. You could also use said Kagutsuchi friend to grind ranks on Tower of the Giants3

When you pick a non-friend helper as you enter a dungeon, you'll be able to send them a friend-request at the end of the dungeon. If they accept, then you guys will be mutual friends.

Qalbert, if you want, you can friend and then best-friend me to make use of my maxed out Verdandi. She'll carry you through lots of dungeons.

Best-friends are a unique selection, and you only get to pick one or two a year. The benefit is that they'll always be available and you can use them for infinite number of times. Most people prefer to keep their best friend selection to form a "triangle" with two other people, so if you pick me now, you won't be able to get a triangle until they reset your selection (i.e. let you select another one).
