For me, it isn't strictly music—it's scent, too. This one, in fact. It was all I'd use in the early '00s, and it is amazing, as the second (male) poster in this thread enthusiastically testifies. What about vanilla sugar doesn't go with Windurst, though? The answer is "nothing," because it's Windurst, and why the fuck wouldn't it smell like sugar and cookies?

Also, @Dejet. The gil was laundered through multiple accounts using a VPN to mask my IP address. The account that traded gil got banned as did my main account, but not some of the ones between. What it really comes down to is their judgment.

Being in vent when the pokemon song, and the others were made was absolutely amazing. My time with Bechyne and Okiru (through the squirtles, the dako's, the torian the explorians, late night ixion/sw delerious conversations on vent, "vested members", lesser hnm disputes over splits, ect) made my ffxi gaming time some of the best times in my life lol. The only correct answer to nostalgia moment is ventrillo conversations and long-term friendships made by 2 people leaving the best shell on the server for a new one, only to run the server after a couple of months through dedication and hard work. here's to you levi and joshua.

I just can't get over how amazing of a time I had just by hearing that voice sing to that song, lol.

My best moments were spent fishing. I spent probably 70% of my ingame time fishing and talking with FishingGuild LS. I started a few months after NA release and didn't get a job to 75 until probably... 2010?

So many great memories

1. Stepping out into South Gustaberg for the first time and being in complete awe of the sheer size and magnitude of the world. The music will forever be burned into my soul. I love it.

2. Yhoator jungle parties and all the camps being full. Back when it was common to see 4-5 parties camping the mandies by the zoneline.

3. Standing around waiting for Simurgh to spawn with about 60 other people out camping. All these people, standing around, just sitting around waiting for 3 hours.My heart just beating like crazy while I stared at my screen. I laugh when I go to other MMO and they bitch about waiting 15 minutes or so for a rare spawn.

4. Fighting RMT for mantas in kuftal. The "Superstars" party of RMT farming Phantom Worm and competing for angel skins. (When Amemet wasn't up, of course).

5. Going up to sky for the first time to exp off of weapons. I felt so elite and strong to make it that far, it was exhilarating to be up there for the first time to get your final levels.

6. Being a DRK, pre-sushi, no archer rings, fighting coeurls in Lab. 'Nuff said.

7. Sitting around for hours in Lower Jeuno with my party flag on. Back when DRK and DRG were bottom of the barrel, last picked classes. Finally getting that tell to join a party was exciting. Getting whispers from other players "wow you're really good" and being invited over more desired classes because of your reputation.

I miss when the game was in its prime, and it was crawling with people. The more empty servers are nice now for what I'm doing, but back then, having so many people playing was magic.

I miss the good ol' days of throwing Rangers at NMs in endless supply until NM died.

15 Rangers vs. Kirin was amusing. Osode would drop, drama ensued.

Without a doubt this game has brought so much excitement. My FFXI history is a long and ridiculous one, including 6 different account.. Ceberoth, Holyhobo, Samuy, Recian, Renoturk and Anutori. Hacked, duped, banned, stolen, etc.

But after 9 years.. and so much time spent... I'm back again, playing, wanting to be elite again!!!

Best memories include, 2-6AM HNM pops, Tiamat, Cerberus, Khim, Kings. Those phone calls were like gunshots, wide awake, no coffee needed, just jump in the chair, move the mouse and game on.

Worst memory... week 2 of playing. 12 BLM on my way to Valkrum for the first time ever. Walking from Windy through Bubu.. died 4-5x getting there. got level 13 at the end of the day and wanted to return to windy... only to die 7-8 times and delevel. Almost quit the game at the very moment... So glad I didn't.

The first day the 3 HNM dragons vrtra, jorm and tiamat came out, all the big HNMLS made alliances to try to zerg vrtra, that unfortunately did not go so well with the hp drain haha

hard to say what the best is, i played for 8 years so there's a ton of fond memories. hitting 71+ back in the day was massively gratifying though. this was during the RNG fantasy XI era, back when monks were basically shunned after level 50. took me close to a year to get those 20 odd levels, but once i was able to start getting KRT parties i never had to wait long for an invite and it was rare to have an incompetent group down there.

CoP absolutely, if only for the hilarity of my static disintegrating once we beat the airship BCNM for I can't even remember what reason. While that BCNM was memorable for forcing me to level alchemy to 61 to make enough hi-potions to survive the beating I took on Paladin and even using some of the other party members as mules to hold extras between parts of the fight, 8-3 some time later will always stick with me because I couldn't stay connected through the entire fight to save my life (thanks Comcast!) until a tech came out to fix some equipment on our property. I was also up against a hard time limit as well since I was going into the military maybe a month and a half if that after we finally got the win. Victory over Promathia came easily after that, but as a rag-tag social shell completing CoP before I ran out of time gave a great sense of closure to that part of my life.
