Looking for an old windows game
While playing minecraft i remembered playing a game that was somewhat similiar to minecraft. i thought it was simply called "shipwreck" but google didnt give me what i was looking for.
you got shipwrecked on an island, iirc you play with a guy, strawhat, red shirt, blue pants. first thing to do is to find fresh water located somewhere on the island and maybe some berries. then you can find branches, stones and liana. out of this stuff you can make things like a spear, a fishing rod, a slinghsot to get some food. build a small house to take shelter from wild animals at night.
with leftover stones you can write "help" anywhere on the island. every night you can see a percent chance of you being rescued from the island. i think you could even make a fireplace for a higher rescue chance.
maybe you even find the plane crashed somewhere near the island and some chests with useful utilities.
got any ideas what game that is? must've been 10 years ago

that actually sounds really cool

Could you be thinking of Notrium? Think it's really similar to that and came out in 2003ish

seems similar to lost in blue for ds, same type of mechanic.

Qalberts link gave me the hint i needed, wiki says this:
Its design and gameplay are influenced by the relatively unknown German freeware game "Schiffbruch".
And thats exactly the one i was looking for, but stranded is basically the same thing, so time to DL this!
Thanks!

Here you can see the stranded guy eating berries, near him is the first tent made out of sticks and grass and also a harvested field nearby

Since you figured it out, I'm gonna hijack this game to try to find a game I haven't been able to remember the name of.
It was a game like Liero, but it had better graphics and slower action from what I remember. Anybody know any other games like that?

Nah not that. It was still worms. Its graphics were almost a little bit like Gunbound rather than Liero/Soldat.

Did anyone ever play a golf game and whenever you hit a tree some announcer would say "You hit the tree Jack." ?
That game and The Secret of Monkey Island were the only games we had on our first computer.
It was probably around 1995 when I played it and on a Windows PC (I think).

Probably was one of the Links golf games. Googled and found the phrase "looks like you hit the tree jim" for Links: The Challenge of Golf.

there was also an abundance of Jack Nicklaus games in the late 80's/90's. http://www.mobygames.com/game-group/...aus-golf-games
