I just can't understand playing games with the sound off

A lot of my enjoyment actually comes from the game sounds itself.
Like... that last move he does in this video. When he slices the enemies up with them energy claw shits, those slash sounds are so fucking satisfying and are half the reason I even do the fuckin move much of the time.


Then the one right before it, that vertical slice... that sound when it first connects, fuckin love it.

I do sometimes turn the sound off in games, but if possible, I prefer to at least leave the sound effects on. They do provide a very visceral gratification.

I always had the sound on FFXI turned off and I listened to something else. Also made running through Boyahda Tree more entertaining when my sneak oils ran out and I couldn't hear aggro on the way to the Aery.

Oft-times when I'm killing a dragon for the millionth time I'm hardly paying attention but the sounds keep me focused somewhat and I actually don't h ave to pay as much attention to the screen to know exactly what is going on.

my buddy made his own ffxi music pack. replaced the music files with his own, used stuff from lotr, chrono cross, and other stuff that i dont remember
