No, they can't keep doing that.
Someone posting about not getting their Launcher to work and other people facing general issues aren't, by default, idiots, and if you feel compelled to call them that without being helpful, you may as well not post at all. If this threatens to devolve into a "you're all stupid" discussion (more than it already has), the name-callers will be on time out.
The e-mail it self doesn't have the download link. What it does tell you is to go to the forums and register. Once there, go to the English section. At the very top you should see "PLEASE READ BETA FORUMS BEFORE TESTING", big, bold letters. Right below that is a "Please read" section and what you are looking for "Download client". Like stated above, if you follow the e-mail you should of been lead right to the forums where all your questions would be answered.

*ahem* noticed there is another week of phase 2, they must be getting a lot of users giving random feedback on controllers or something O_o
It's more likely that they're finally getting some decent feedback from non-legacy players now that many of us have stopped playing the beta, and they want to keep that coming as long as possible. I expect it to run to its maximum like phase 1 did--3 weeks (4 weekends).
Phase 2 isn't only about controllers. Don't forget that they've invited more people for it and they keep sending out more every week and these people haven't played the Beta before.
More likely the reason we have another week of phase two is because they're not ready for phase 3.
Phase 2 won't be over until the 28th according to some things I read.

edit: it's German but it essentially says they're giving away a thousand keys and that this particular phase lasts until the 28th. Page 2 lists Square as their source, so. It also makes sense, so I saw no reason to dispute their word.
This phase and the next are likely to contain nothing different unfortunately. I'd hoped they would add in the targeting filters during this phase, but I suppose not. Everything seems to be clumped into Phase 3 and beyond. I can't bring myself to even Gridania anymore without anything new to test.
Man, they're taking pretty long with Phase 2 then?
I suspect stalling, if only due to the fact that there's no changes from the first test of this phase to this one. They likely need more time and I'm alright with that. I want P3 to come along strong as it'll be our first view of the game as a whole.
Stalling? No thanks no more stalling I want to play...
But in all honesty, didn't P1 last this long? If they hit their tentative date for P3 it wouldnt have been til Mid May as it was. So this is hardly stalling. That being said, P3 is supposed to include the start of the PS3 beta. Getting that all setup for playtesting anytime before an already set date with Sony will be problematic. Its not like they can accellerate that process too much.
I am just happy that the schedule thus far pushes for Open Beta by the end of June. Which is basically "launch" if they stick with their no unnecessary character deletions between P4 and Live.
Phase 1 was 5 weekends.
Phase 2 is April 5th till April 28th. This is still three weeks which they did say 1-3 weeks so there are two more weekends of Phase 2. Which makes sense.
Phase 3 will most likely start on May 10th or four weeks from now.
