Here is a better test..... run the benchmark with vsync ON.....

this well give you a better idea of how well it will run.....are you lalafell enough to try it?
I just installed the latest beta drivers from AMD and activated cross-fire. I keep crashing to desktop either after the Ifrit portion where it transitions to the Black Shroud, or when it transitions from the Black Shroud to Tam Tara. No error message or anything. I get great frame-rates and scores up until that point. Not sure what's going on.
I just ran benchmark from my 2nd computer.....
Intel 2700k with 1 gtx 680 with vsync on...
[IMG][/IMG]
sooo... with vsync.. a more likely playing scenario....
with Intel 3930k and 2 gtx 680's = 7487 (avg fps 59.027)
with Intel 2700k and 1 gtx 680 = 7423 (avg fps 58.627)
Vsync is limiting your fps to your monitor's refresh rate (59-60Hz for most people), it makes no sense to turn it on during a benchmark...
This is funny.
sorry, did you guys not understand what im trying to do? if someone gets 15000 score in this benchmark... and another person gets 8000 in the benchmark.... it doesn't mean that the higher score performs better.... the 15000 score pc might drop its frame rate down to the 30's during the bench and the 8000 might not go lower then 60 during the benchmark..... meaning.... the 8000 scoring PC actually runs the game better.......
I know what you're trying to do, but in both cases you're still measuring average fps, there's very few short sections where it drops below 60 with a high end card, so it's gonna average 57-59 most of the time unless you have a low or mid-range GPU, the best way to find that would be recording it with fraps or a similar program and doing a graph with Y-FPS X-Time like many reviews do.
I wish 120hz vsync worked I wanna see what those scores would look like
might.........its just theory
It might for a split of a second, and thus making the game feel not as fluid, it's not like it dips in the 30's for 1-2 seconds, otherwise it wouldn't score 15000.
sorry I pick a random number like 15000 <.<... was just making up a number for an example.... >.> im going away now... back to lurking in the forums for a few more years...internets is scary
This forum is pretty good, on mmo champ any time I post reply to something I get beaten down in 2 seconds lol
Was having issues with my gaming laptop so i just returned it to build my own pc, finished just this morning, now it's time for some benchmarks.
This is the old ffxiv Benchmark

The New one

Spoiler: show
Still doing some tweeking but these are the initial results. My cpu is also just stop gap till the 4930k comes out in the next month or 2. I'm glad to see the higher frames in the new benchmark will be great for 3D.
If you had the money to make that kind of PC, why on earth did you use "gaming" laptops?
Didn't really have the room for a desktop before and only played ffxiv on pc everything else on console. Till I got the gaming laptop which could play all games on ultra haven't touched my xbox or ps3 since. I started playing all kind of pc games not just ffxiv and for that I wanted something long term that I could upgrade along the way.
3820 is the cheapest cpu for the 2011 socket that the 4930k will use, I didn't pay retail for the 3820 so it's not as bad as you think lolAnd buy a 3820 "to fill the gap" till 4930k releases, what the fuck lol
I posted the score 9100 I managed with this 570 I recently acquired a few pages back, just wanted to show what I have managed to squeeze out of her since.
That was obtained with an OC of 900/1800/2100 @1000mV. I feel as though I could still get a bit more, but a 570 running stable at a clock of 900/2100 @1000mV is pretty damn impressive on it's own. Not to shabby for $125.
