Reran at 16:9 so I could join the 8k club
This puts me about exactly even with an I7 with 4 cores. I'm not seeing any advantage with 6 cores.

so am I the only that can't seem to download the benchmark at all? I go to the download, accept the terms, and then nothing, tried multiple browsers same issue. just a "cannot display error".
/sigh
guess I'll wait to do the benchmark.
Scored a 7720 running at 1920x1080 on Maximum
i5-2500k @ 4.1ghz
GTX 670
Windows Home 7 64
Only saw a couple hiccups during the chocobo riding scenes

Seems about right. I've been playing the beta at 2560x1440 with everything on except for DOF and AO (personal preference) and its been very smooth.
2600k @ 4.2
7970 oc'd to max in the AMD overdrive options

All of you breaking 8k are all running HD 7900s._ .
On max settings. I normally run at 2560x1440 though, and the benchmark doesn't support that. Also, since it doesn't support SLI its meh since I have 680x2. In addition, I also had my 2nd monitor running and my main monitor runs at 2560x1440 (My score would prolly be much higher if I corrected all of that stuff)

8577 is the best i can do

I hate my video card. Do you guys think it would even be worth trying on my computer? ; ;
This is my best ^^ was hoping for 9k but no go yet more tweaking to come lol!

Below are my specs, forgot to save the 8936 run but this is one right before it.

I found out why my score was low... My OC wasn't actually working so I was still clocked at 2.8. However, when I turned on the OC to 3.8GHz my new score was 5290. It barely budged. Looks like I may need a new card. lol
FYI, I'm running latest beta drivers from ATI (13.2).
System:
Windows 8 Pro 64-bit (6.2, Build 9200) (9200.win8_rtm.120725-1247)
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 930 @ 2.80GHz

AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series(VRAM 4095 MB) 8.17.0010.1191
Going to try with ATI Overdrive enabled.
dont see the point to tweaking to get the highest possible. its a bottom end benchmark that doesn't support SLI and a bunch of other features. if your getting 8k+ (and have SLI) I doubt you have anything you need to worry about
lol with default OverDrive settings I got 5241...
Question to the other people with 680s, do you have the 4gb or 2gb edition. Grey Jorildyn got really amazing results with a pretty low clock speed, I'm wondering if it was because his 680 has 4gb?
Still satisfied with my $200 GTX 480 - Need some help in the CPU cooler department to OC more (and I just suck at it). Don't think bumping up the OC a tiny bit will help though.

I don't OC anything, don't even know where to start. This is the exact video card I have: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121634
2gb model but asus is king imo
GPU seems to make the most difference with the benchmark. Overclocking my GPU (max OverDrive) netted me with an extra ~1200, but overcloking my CPU from its previous 3.9GHz to 4.56GHz only netted me another ~150. Quite the about-face from the CPU-driven FFXI.
