Works for all numbers < 100. Unless you just meant speed, cause yeah it will in no way save you time in most cases.

Step 2: 55+55 = 110
Step 3: 55x55 = 3025 (here's why the method saves you no time)
Step 4: 100 - 110 = -10
Step 5: -10 x 100 = -1000 (They just plop the 93 in there, but its really 93 x 100)
Step 6: Add 3025 to -1000 = 2025

Calculator says ... 45x45 = 2025 ... Equality

It actually works on numbers larger than 100 and you don't need to use 100 as the number you're subtracting/multiplying from, it's just a nice one to use because powers of ten and shit.
