I just like to imagine there's some kind of Chinese huckster in their government, constantly selling them snake oil to get new buildings made and thrown away. How many monorails does China have again?

At least if they ever collapse under their own social problems and return to a Mad Max style feudal era like in the Water Margin, these buildings will make awesome pirate strongholds.

Basically the way China has been fueling their growth for years is selling land to themselves then using it as leverage for loans for construction. That is not sustainable.
