dont mean to derail but,

when mal and leo were experimenting with how far back they could go into their dreams, time became so long (50 years..because the farther back you go the longer time gets) that they THOUGHT they were in limbo. they were just in a very deep dream. when they killed themselves on the railroad tracks, THEN they were in limbo. the whole movie was in leo's limbo. his wife actually realized it and killed herself to escape it. this is why random thoughts of leo's come into other peoples dreams throughout the movie(the train on the street).

Throughout the entire movie: in the dream world, Cobb is wearing his wedding band, and in the real world, he is not wearing his wedding band. From this theory, at the end of the movie, we can assume the top stops spinning and that he is in the real world since he is not wearing his band in that scene.
